These are TERRIBLE. Every time I go to a kid's birthday I see one. The screen is from the 60s, you can't see anything, it gets boring after an hour, why would you get this? Kids are clever enough to realise this is not a real laptop. It's not very educational either.

You're better off just giving them cold hard cash.
I wouldn't sy it's supposed to be too educational. Like any toy it will help develop fine motor skills and familiarity with the real world. We had a Winnie pooh laptop from Vtech. Our daughter had it from 2 and at 4 she stills plays with it.

It isn't supposed to be real, it is a toy.

Kids know that a toy car isn't a real car, doesn't stop them enjoying them.

My sarcasm senses are tingling...
What operating system does these run ? i guess it must be linux from the price , surely linux would be a little bit hard for a child child.

You would be better off buying them a netbook with windows 7 to learn them .

Would I buy a netbook(each) for my destructive kids to use - eh no. and the schools run macs so would just confuse them!

gotta agree i bought a few of these laptop toys during my sons early years used for about an hour in total, in the cupboard ever since.when he turned 3 i let him use the laptop for going on cbeebies and hes now a whizz on it and the cbeebies site is much more educational than these things?

didnt vote cold tho as if you are gonna buy one it is a good price.
