Thank you all ordered.

Are these really all they are cracked up to be? Would it be suitable for a five year old? I've a feeling it would get tossed to one side after ten minutes in favour of "mums iPad".

you could always get a cheap tablet if unsure? I think if you have the right games for them that they enjoy I don't0see why it wouldn't hold their attention. not sure to be honest about the age, I've just got one for my 3 year old niece.

I bought two innotab 2's last year for my 3 year old twins. Don't get me wrong they do like them however getting them away from the iphone or ipad no chance. The issues I have with these (innotab 2 not sure how much better the 3 is) very slow, picture quality is poor, touch screen is terrible, battery life is limited - always recharging, games are ok but very expensive and limited. I've decided to sell them and buy them each a nexus 7. Obviously more expensive and there only 4! but games/apps are cheap and a much better selection, can be used to watch films in the car, battery is better, plus they will leave our iPhones and iPads alone! This is certainly a great price but I would say they have there flaws against a proper tablet. Maybe spend a little more and get something like a hudl...

Please be careful when downloading games for the nexus. I downloaded cake maker, pet spa and another game for my 4 yr old. All was good until random porn ( extremely dirty), started flashing on the screen!!

ordered for my 3yr old and my daughter gets a free watch as extra little bonus

thanks op

I definately think they're worth the buy. My 3 yr old also has an innotab 2, iv managed over time to buy a lot of the Disney character games half price or less, and a £20 gift card half price to use on the learning lodge. The apps through the learning lodge aren't very expensive.
My 6 ur old niece also has 1 & loves it just as much as my little 1.
It is worth mentioning, it's worth it to buy a mains adapter as battery's do run out very quickly, but if u do want to use battery's, rechargeable 1s are best

Or pay a bit more and get a real tablet

i bought this on offer then sold on ebay for a profit. i then bought a leappad and its so much better. easier to set up and perfect for my 4 yeah old who will be 5 at christmas.

what?

my son is 3 so I don't want him using a "real" tablet and him clicking on apps with advertisements or a tablet that is fragile...especially for the price we are looking at here.

For £50 AND vTech watch I'm pretty sure its a great deal.

I like the fact you can actually put real videos or DVD's on the innotab for car journeys etc.

We got my daughter an innotab2 a year ago. yes she still plays on our tablets but only with supervision so she does like the independence of her own tablet as I know she can't download or click on anything inappropriate. We now have a collection of games which all have built in learning through play. The e books are great and reinforced her love for reading also quite sure they helped with her being able to read before she started school last month. We use rechargeable batteries and have no problems at all. We did buy her a pair of headphones to go with it to save my sanity! I would recommend to anyone interested in them. Yes there are plenty of cheap android tablets but I feel that they require full adult supervision even with a kid skin put on them.

id imagine you cant do that

call your local store to explain and they might help or let you get both instore

am gutted want the pink watch and its out of stock wonder if I get the blue one I can get it and take it to store and swap for the pink one?

The offer exists at the Brent X branch; the price of the tab is higher but they matched it to £55 and the watch came free. Both the pink and the blue ones are available. BUT the price is matched under one condition that the goods cannot be returned unless it had a factory fault. I still got it, still sealed for daughters birthday on the 14th, lets hope it's not cracked once taken out of the box
