I'm not familiar with VTX, but under £170 for a 6870 is great value! I'm waiting to see the price/performance of the 6950/6970 which are expected at the end of November, although I'm very tempted by this...

All gone now! Good deal while it lasted.

That was quick ! VTX3D is a sister company to Powercooler, focused on ATi cards.

3 Due in 3-4 days if anyone want's one .......

No idea about vtx support either. To be honest, I'm not that bothered. If it fails in the first year, I can just return it. Drivers etc. you can just get from ATI.
I have bought more graphics cards over the years then most people, and I can't remember any of them going faulty one me, so I am going to risk it.
If you are concerned about the warranty, you might be better off paying the extra £25 and going for a more reputable brand

What is the warranty on this?

All other 6870s seem to offer 2 years with XFX offering 5 years

Original Poster

Not sure.. some VTX products seem to have 1 year, some have 2..
I will check the box tonight

Cheers djfuff. Will check back tonight.

Apart from the ASUS, all these 6870s should be the same shouldn't they?

With only difference being warranty?

Original Poster

Yea, they are all using reference boards.
1-2 Weeks now

The ASUS uses the sme ref. board & cooler, so you could do it yourself anyway
Hexus article

Was speaking more about ASUS' Direct CU version.

Would be very if you could give us a complete review : nose, heat, perf...

I look for days to find a test or a review of the VTX HD6870, and you're the first one i find.

I havn't checked the temps yet. Will check for you 2nite.
Noise wise, It's quiet. Verry quiet. When under load, I can hear it over the rest of the case fans (but only just). (it replaced a 4870, which sounded like a leaf blower when stressed !)
Performance wise, I have yet to push the card. I was playing BFBC2 with everything maxed out (Max AA max detail etc) and it was silky smooth. Noticeably better than the 4870, which I had to turn down AA etc. to get a good framrate.
I will do some benchmarking too.
TBH it's a reference card, so performance , noise & temps will be exactly the same as 95% of all the other 6870's, eg the sapphire 6870
