Vue Gateshead - £4.99 films

19
Found 2nd Feb
Saw this posted in a Facebook group I'm in. "Exclusions apply", apparently, so I'm guessing this is for standard 2D screenings only.

I hope Gateshead film fans get some use out of this. Not sure if it's a limited time thing or if it's permanent from now on.

First post. Hopefully I'm doing this right.

good price but personally I would never go to a vue cinema again, very uncomfortable seats even for vip section.

I don't go to Vue cinemas either - I've had a Cineworld Unlimited card since it opened in Newcastle. Not the best cinema in the world but you can't beat it for the price.

the trouble is that ever since odeon done a refurb on its cinemas here then you can't go back to rubbish seats with crammed leg room. Yes tickets are more pricey for odeon but damn the seats are so comfy and plenty of leg room. I don't go cinema a lot but whenever I do then it would have to be odeon for sure.

I don't find the premium seats at the Newcastle Cineworld too bad, and I'm over 6 and a half feet tall so leg room is something I regularly have issues with. Odeon's seats are still much better, but it'd be more expensive and take me way more time to get there.

meanwhile in Garston/Watford...

1x adult for Greatest Showman, this evening, £12.54
Can someone help me out please? I've booked tickets this weekend x2 at Cheshire oaks at full price £22 but have also received this email offer from vue, is there a way I can get a refund as rang up but it's automated service only and on the website it is a bit vague. Thanks in advance.

The Gateshead Vue seats (and Cramlington) are absolutely superb... I often still opt for Odeon due to the location and various perks I get, but out of all the cinemas in the North East, Vue are probably only bettered by the special recliner seats at the Silverlink (which cost a mint to book).

You need to ask at the cinema. Due to changed plans I was able to recently swap tickets to a different film&time (they refunded and I paid the difference). You won't get the booking fee back though.

I went to vue thinking they would have recliners or some decent seating as everyone was banging on about them but I went recently to my nearest one and from that experience I would never visit a vue again.

Yes... but which is your local one?

It's a bit of a crazy convo, because in different cities, different chains will have better/worse seats.
Odeon, for example, are great in the newer cinemas, but shocking in some of the older ones.

Great as the seating is at Gateshead Vue, that doesn't mean they'll be great at all of their branches.

You've obviously never been to Cineworld at Dalton Park then.... best seats by a country mile. Mind Gateshead Vue's aren't bad, but they aren't a patch on Dalton Parks

Like I said originally... I actually tend to hit Odeon anyway... It's more just the notion of "avoiding Vue because the seats are awful" isn't a very valid comment, as all cinemas have different facilities at different venues.

As an SAFC fan... you'll be a big fan of "Titanic"?

Theres only 2 branches of vue that is not really local but one is closer than the other. I went to the Hamilton one as thats the nearest one to me.
The 2 Odeons that I go to are both done up. In fact the very first one that was done is local to me so its a lot handy and convenient for me to go there. Only thing now is that both of these are always fully booked so you can't just turn up and chance it like you could before lol
I find Vue are winning at the moment in terms of pricing!
