Just browsing the PlayStation Plus rewards section and found a good way to get cheaper tickets outside of the Meerkat Movie Days. The ‘Every Film Every Day’ 2D tickets work out at £4.81 a ticket inc. booking fee + VAT (min. 2 tickets must be purchased). Hope it helps some of you!

What are PlayStation Plus rewards? If you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription, you can get access to exclusive offers on a variety of products and services with our carefully selected partners. Offers are available for a limited time and will change regularly, so if you see something you'd like to claim you'll need to do this before the offer expires.

How do I find and claim rewards? To access PlayStation Plus rewards, sign in to your PlayStation (SEN) account on PlayStation.com and head to the PS Plus rewards page. Here you'll find a list of offers that are currently available and how long you have left to claim.

If you currently have an active PlayStation Plus subscription, simply hit the 'Find out more' button on the offer you like, redeem the offer, and you'll be given a voucher code and a link to head over to the partner's website to redeem it.

If you're not currently subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you can click 'Buy PS Plus' to subscribe through PlayStation Store. Please note it may take up to 48 hours after subscribing for rewards to become available to you, so make sure the reward you want to claim doesn't expire within this time.

In Portsmouth, every film is £4.99. it's crazy.
Thanks so much OP

My local used to charge £4.99 but they increased the price to £7.99 after doing a refurb and now all seats are leather recliner

I always used the HOLD app to get my tickets for £4.99 each including booking fee + vat but now this works out even cheaper by a few pennies so will give this a try

Completely forgot about ps+ rewards

Good deal. It’s crazy how much some cinemas have dropped the prices while others have remained high, my local indie is the best - £4 a movie, all popcorn and drinks £1

Same here. All films are 4.99 (Hamilton)
We go once a month to cinema now if anything we fancy, whereas previously probably went twice a year. They've encouraged us to go.

Ok I just did a Google search for ps+ rewards and found it. Also in Hukd app, you can click the box in the top right corner and that takes you to it. Unfortunately my closest cinema Watford is grouped in London so costs a little bit more than quoted.

Find your nearest Vue cinema as its likely to be £4.99 for regular 2D showings now. Also register on the BT Perks website. You can then get reduced price tickets for Cineworld/Showcase/Odeon and other chains on there.

They confirmed they are doing that to every one ? That seems very expensive for little gain.

I'm round Manchester and they have refreshed all of them round there the prices went up as you may imagine.

If you have contract with Vodafone there is an offer 2 for 7 at the moment

Is it just us in Pompey?

Assumed they had rolled this out nationwide by now.

I go at least 3x more than I used to because I don't resent getting ripped off each time, they must be raking it in.
If you're in an area with £4.99 tickets, this is only really useful if you're wanting to pre-book on a non-meerkat night. But for those situations, it works a treat and saves you the usual booking fee on top of the £4.99 ticket.
Do you select ‘every film every day’?

This is in Halifax and a bunch of other areas too but I think it's mainly at cinemas that weren't doing too well previously. I guess it's better for them to draw people in at these cinemas with lower ticket prices than have hardly anyone go there since a large amount of their earnings come from the food and drink they sell.

Good find, I don't go Vue as tickets are £13+ plus distance but good for those who go.

The price rise is much worth it for the increased comfort and less densely filled rooms on busier screenings

I go during the day and it's empty, definitely saves money on booking fee.

You can only select that if its a location where they have cheap (e.g. £4.99) tickets anyway and its about 50p cheaper. Otherwise, you need to go with one of the other options.
