VW have a cam belt offer on currently till December 30th 2014. When I rang the local dealership, they quoted me £419!! Then I mentioned the offer on the VW website, they then said if I printed off the page they will honour the offer. Best to pay the extra £50 and get water pump done as well..

depends on the car some you can do in a hour or so. some cars have naff all space and all is tight so can take hours.
They could also be having peoples pants down on the small engined 8v models
Also worth getting them to price match a local garage price as vw will be £££ per hour
i had mine done a while ago, and they gave me the old one back which gave me confidence it had been done, but then thought to myself I wouldn't know what it looked like anyway so tbh they could have said they had done it and then given me a cheese sandwich as evidence - I wouldn't have known.
Is it not worth phoning up your local VW dealer to ask? Or phone your Audi dealer and see if they will price match it? It's the same parts after all.
Lol, sorry I assumed it was VW!
Sound advice - always get the water pump replaced at the same time.
I wish too, do you think vw would do an Audi lol
Next time; before they start work ask them to keep the parts removed from the vehicle for inspection - if they quibble, don't let them do the work.
Yep but only petrol ones Tdis and 2l need them
Good site to check when they recommend changing but always best to do it really early as you don't want the camber to snap that's for sure

25% off with the Masterfit Club.
I have a VW T4 2.5TDI and wish that the offer would include this vehicle as mine was done @ 4 years ago so is due for replacement again.
Come on VW look after all of your loyal customers please.
Thank you for that bit of information, I'll ring them tomorrow to make sure it's included, saves me some money if it does go wrong..
Back Street Barry....Top Bloke he is
Depends when it was last changed mate. Should be every 4 years or 60,000 miles.
Long long ago if its on its original belt, you need to know the date and mileage to assess when its next due. If you don't know the history of your cambelt change it and the tensioner/pulleys and water pump asap as a snapped belt or a failed pulley/pump normally causes the engine to be written off.
It will be fine for another 100k.....joke, its due now as its approx 60k since you last did it.
Exscuse me, so you (or the buyer) had to pay 30% of engine cost? Why, how was it your fault? You seem to be happy with that arrangment.
