I selected 10k miles
36 months
1 month up front

Seems a pretty good deal to me. I do remember a time when these were sub £300 all in but those time’s are sadly long gone.

For 1 month up front I think this is decent.

Sadly my Cupra Estate 4drive 300 has been depreciating more than this a month over the last 2 years so not sure I made the right decision to buy outright tbh. Tempted to sell it and get this brand new with no MOT required and on warranty.

Please note no maintenance included and bound to be a fee to “reserve / process”.

Various other prices available depending on how you select the variables to suit you.

Let the lease hire hating commence...

With 1 month up front, 10k miles and 3 year term? Do provide a link if you have a better deal I couldn’t find one and would totally go for it at £300 p/m on those terms
It works out £4.3k a year - it may be decent against other deals (I haven't looked) but it's not outstanding in its own right.
Edited by: "deeky" 6th Mar
It's through Seat Warrington. It's not listed on their website at the mo, their website is terrible, they've only got the hatchback, but if you call them they'll quote you on the estate, or I think it's listed on Facebook.

Im waiting on delivery, but it's 1 month up front, 8k Miles 3 years. I'm paying circa £300, I think it's just over £308 maybe... With delivery in april. 2nd car I've had from them, current car is the cupra hatchback..

I bought my equivalent powered and species cupra 300 estate for £27k 15 months ago, I quoted webuyanycar last week to be told it was worth £18.75k... that’s a depreciation of £550 per month. Granted I bought from a dealer and the quote was from a lowball webuyanycar. That said I’d need to sell it for £21,750 to break even with that lease price.

I'm a bit biased tbh, I paid £6.6k for my R on a 2 year lease. It was 2016 but the car has only gone up in price by a couple of grand. Amazing car though.

On those terms at Seat Stockport it’s £313mth for Cupra 300 (non lux) but it has a lot less spec than the Golf r.

Seems a good deal. I dunno, I do like my cupra, but the golf is a golf. So it’s not apples and apples. I did buy my cupra as it was a couple of k cheaper hence probably cheaper on lease slightly too.

In my defence I was looking at the golf for a deal and not the cupra.

That said, I smoked a hatchback R in a drag race with three gents in my car. But I do put shell vpower 100 octane in which could be the difference. I’m still dining out on that ego trip!

Yes that’s pretty shocking how much you can lose when buying. A big chunk is lost as soon as the new model or even facelift model comes out, one of the beauty’s of leasing is the known set cost.

99 octane to correct myself.

Yes, I am a bit miffed to be honest and am regretting not leasing from the outset. It was cash in the bank too, so I’d have been even worse off had I loaned that money to purchase!

So it’s either the ‘long hold’ to let the depreciation plateau off in which case I’m sure I’ll win eventually. Or a new lease and cut losses now. Let’s be honest though, there is no way my car will last 10 years the way it gets driven - the maintenance costs when out of warranty will probably justify a new one on their own!!

I should state that I have put under 10k on my cupra 300 in 15 months for that £550 a month depreciation I mentioned from owning outright.

44p a mile is irrelevant if you are not in the market for said vehicle. I am very sure you will find a plethora of lower powered lower specced vehicles for less than that price. I would be interested in higher specced, higher powered vehicles for that price or less though if you feel like contributing to the conversation.

I'm paying less on PCP for a BMW 335D which is both faster and higher spec.

Lol was gonna ask where you get the 100 octane from?
You also lost the interest you could have made from the £27k then and the road tax cost........sorry
Sounds like you are enjoying the car though (300bhp is great fun) so yeah maybe look to change before that warranty runs out.
Fast car in estate ??? It's not like we need to take stuff from grocery run or to a skip FAST!!! Useless waste of that poor engine TBH!!

Faster

To be fair he is right if it’s the X drive model 0-60 is 4.6secs (same as Golf r hatch) but this R estate (300) is 4.9secs. After motorway speed the Golf R would be quicker.
I would imagine the higher torque of 3litre diesel also makes it feel a lot faster in everyday driving but the noise and black smoke not so good.

The BMW has 309bhp with 690nm of torque vs the Golf which only has 288bhp and 380nm of torque - So yes I believe so.

No black smoke nowadays and the 6 cylinders sound OK actually, obviously it's no V8 sound but smooth and effortless but worth it for the 690nm of torque from just 1500rpm

There are some cracking deals on BMW 530d M Sport at the moment £999 deposit and £409 a month, not quite as quick (261bhp and 5.5secs) but much smaller deposit.Quick Example scroll down

Problem with a 36month deal (especially with an engine like this) is that you almost certainly will need to factor in tyres to the cost. The added estate weight won't help with that either.
