This is a good deal but to pay £5.99 each time will work out quite a bit if you continue with them.

I am 32 and have been smoking since I was 14, and have been on 30 - 40 a day for the last 2 or 3 years. I have gone 15 days without a real fag thanks to the e cigs.

If you get on with this I suggest using a Ten Motives e cig (available from most supermarkets). They cost £10 for a battery, cartridge (approx 25 fags) and a USB charger. The cartridges than cost about £7 for 5 (equivalent of 125 fags). This is what I have been using and they are doing the job nively. I haven't once wanted to smoke a real fag, even when going on an all day p*ss up

This is cool. My GF doesn't think that vaping will help with her cig habit so this looks like a good way to find out!

What (ballpark) would this tester translate to in 'real' cigarettes? 10?

Original Poster

It says approx 130 puffs, whatever that is in fags I don't know

Gonna try it out before i order a real ecig kit, then i'll know if it's for me or not.

Can you enlighten us at all?
Serious question, I used to enjoy smoking normal cigs and just tried an "e-cig" the other day (e-lites mild I think it was) and interested in hearing which are the best.
Trying these for a couple of quid was my first plan, but if there are better would like to know

Wonder if i can buy this as an intro to smoking.... progress up the ranks past the marlboro lights upto the heady heights of the Gauloise.

Everyone needs a dream.... and i like to make mine achievable.

Congrats mate.

They say quitting cigs is one of the hardest things you'll do in your life.
I'm not sure it's that hard. I've managed to quit them at lest twenty times...

I'm overdue to quit them again. Might give these a look. Haven't tried e-cigs before.

Heat added.

I started with this one and the 18mg menthol that came with it was great

ecigwizard.com/ele…-ci ... undle.html

Battery was alright, flavour etc was all good. Was quite happy until I started looking around, now using an innotech MVP with various clearomisers and cartomisers.

In regards to e-liquid I use all sorts but mainly menthols. Although the all time best for me is

http://tmax-juices.co.uk/

A citrus taste on the inhale with an aniseed cool exhale, proper gorgeous stuff.

Have a look at some of the joyetech stuff or even some of the joyetech clones, bang your own choice of carto/clearomizer (SMOK DCT, kanger protank, or a vivi nova) and get some decent liquid to put into it.

I use an e-vic, yes it cost £80 but i've been using it for well over a year, I cain it all day long (whereas something like this might last me until mid morning) and it never misses a beat.

Have a look at some of the vaping places (maybe start at www.safercigs.co.uk) There's loads of options, they may be more expensive to buy once, but something like this is probably more likely to put you off e-cigs. You mught think it's only a few quid but if it puts you off vaping forever... what does that make your life worth?

I started with an EGO-C, a good starting point for newbies. Within 2 days I was off the smokes... simples.

No it isnt quite the same as a ciggy, but it doesnt kill you either It just takes a little getting used to. If you go with my suggestions of looking for better equipment, you can load up with one flavour, if you dont like it, load up with another until you find one you like.

Most people try to use them like an inhaler the first time and end up coughing like mad, just start steady and you'll be fine

I'm 40... err.. 40 something... smoked for 25 years was chain smoker toward the end.. I have gone 5 years without a real fag thanks to weaning off with patches. Have no interest in tobacco, nicotine, e-cigs etc.

I spend the money I save on nice things that are nice.

Hello all, I consider myself as a pro paper, as I have been vapeing for 2 years and have tried all types of ecigs, this type looks good, it's small and compact, however for all intent and purposes these are rubbish and expensive. by all means give it a try than go the e liquid path, using ego kit and maybe expand your kit as and when needed, totally wicked eliquid are one of the best retailers and in my opinion sell some of the best eliquid. good luck quitting

Treid these ecigs before and they can be OK for a bit but i found my self craving that real drag sensation and was smoking agin within 30 days, i have since quit cold turkey and I am on 6 months with out a cigarette, these do not deal with the addiction, and as such if you ever run out of vapour cigs you will be straight back on the real things.

32 years old, smoking for 17 years and on about 30 a day... its great to have money to spend!!

If you buy a decent e-cig and a decent atomizer to go on top of it and mix you own liquid it is waaay cheaper. It costs me about 2.5 pence a day and I get through 8ml if not more each day. Plus if you mix your own liquid, you know exactly whats in it.

I got one of the menthol ones last time and was unimpressed, however there was another deal on here for a vaporizer pen thingy - try searching for cloud 9 - at home bargains. It's 7.99 with the e liquids 1 or 2.99 each. I got a menthol which is great, and a blueberry which is terrible. I've enjoyed it so far and haven't been on the fags since. I'm now looking into a better vaporizer and e-liquids :-)

Good on you mate, even if you are a Pal@rse fan although I can't say much after our result at the weekend, lol! I was smoking for 30 years and been using ecigs since feb 2011 and just got home from a 5k run. Trust me though, I've done a load of research and the best place to buy a kit is TECC microlite kits. Get a rechargeable box kit with 6 carts and 2 batteries for about 29.99 but on a yo-yo promotion at the moment so you can get one for around £21 if you keep an eye out. The tobacco carts that come with it are not to my taste at all but the Menthol carts are nice.Batteries last about 8-12 weeks and carts are £7.99 for 10 and are refillable with your own juice. Look on ukvapers forum for more info on vaping and but there a much better and cheaper kits than the ones advertised in the Sunday papers. I always have one of these kits on me.And my Ego-T.:D

How do these compare to the Poundland ones?

I use the 10motives menthol available at tesco & sainsburys. Been using it for over 6 months, and feel loads better. Didn't really want to give up smoking, but obviously didn't want to die of cancer either. Haven't been tempted to go back once, which is a real first for me as was smoking heavily for over 20 years and tried (and failed miserably) many times to quit. Therefore, although a little pricey, I'm sticking with the e-cig. Feel loads healthier, no wheezing or coughing. A little bit of nicotine is fine, no worse than a glass of wine.

Spot on, nicotine is no worse for you than caffeine, I too have no desire to stop having nic, now I just do it without killing myself.

Right now there is more nicotine in my fridge than food

You really ought to try a better e-cig though

Quitting smoking is miles easier than quitting drinking.

Me too, I tried vaping when it first hit the scene but leakage was way too much of a problem. Came back to it when the ego came out, still a few leakage issues but these days leakage is rare. Quality control can still be an issue these days but day by day things are improving. What you vaping these days? I run an e-vic with a protank, no leakage, no dry hits, just flavour and vapor

Problem for me with these things, and the egos is battery life, I need to be able to hit 8ml a day, this aint gonna cut the mustard, the e-vic with a 3200mah battery inside lasts all day!

In terms of TW, I only buy from them if they have a yoyo on, they are overpriced imo.

Banned

Going to give this a try!

No, not really, we are all unique. I don't drink very much at all, if alcohol was banned tomorrow it wouldn't bother me at all. On the other hand I don't want to quit nicotine, so these things really are a life saver!

How about something like this http://www.safercigs.co.uk/eGo__1000mAh_vision_kit/p705283_7385076.aspx

Ok I know we are talking a wedge more money but we're talking much better quality, a longer lifespan and a better overall vaping experience.

Again everyone is different, I prefer a variable voltage device so I can tweak and find the sweet spot, I also like a good throat hit and thats another reason I mix my own liquid.

Not smoked for years or even looked into these, are they bad for you in any way?

ijw0161

Depends if you listen to the people who want to regulate (read tax) it.

I mix my liquid, it contains Propylene Glycol (found in toothpaste, cough mixture and many other things deemed safe), aqueous glycol again deemed safe. Nicotine, which arguably is bad for you (just like caffeine) and menthol for flavour. That gets vapourised into steam essentially... so is it bad for you, I think not but some "professionals" seem to think so.

Lets put it this way, when you light up a cigarette, how many carcinogens are you putting into your lungs? There's no carcinogens in what I vape and vaporized nicotine is absorbed so quickly into my body, when I exhale there's no "second hand smoke" to be concerned about.

Also, there's no smell, I don't stink anymore. Win win and win in my book.

Milky87

I thought 1 puff was the same as 1 fag?

^ Please note no homosexual innuendo

or to rephrase one drag = one cigarette worth of nicotine

More like you have failed to quit them at least 20 times.

A while back I saw on a forum some photos, xrays of a a smokers lungs, very cloudy images. 12 months after vaping another set of photos were posted and things looked so much better. I can't find it now but ill keep looking and I'll post up a link here.

The EU are narked off with vaping, they don't want to ban it, they want to control it, why? pure and simple, they want to tax it. If all the smokers turn to vaping thats £12 billion lost revenue in the UK alone (based on revenues generated in 2011-12) until they can slap a nice hefty duty on the stuff. I hear the non-smokers banging on about cost to the NHS etc but look at the figures, theres a massive difference in the cost to the NHS vs revenues generated from tobacco products. The government doesn't really want you to stop smoking,

Its the same as they don't want you to stop driving. Last year I read a document about the revenues lost due to the low road tax incentive for driving a greener car, those cars that get free tax or £15 tax... now there's so many of them on the road, the government plan to increase the RFL for these cars to recover huge lost revenues. The bottom line is they want your money, and you can be sure they're going to take it.

Im O/T now but its plain to see, tax you when you earn it, take you when you spend it and just to add insult to injury, they bloody tax you when you die (inheritance tax).

40% income tax, then 20% VAT on most stuff, come on... someone is taking the ****. If they stopped acting like a bunch of school kids and learned to spend money wisely, perhaps we wouldn't be getting raped quite so badly.
