@T-800 How even is the cut?

I've been using my Wahl clippers for years and they do give an even cut . I do my own hair cuts now , other half shied away from the job years ago, number 1 all over. Just cut blind first , then take a look in the mirror to see if any bits need more work with either shears or scissors . Get OH to confirm back is OK after once going a full day with a strip I'd not cut
Cheap and cheerful, bought one at beginning of lockdown and still using it. Initially vibration was intolerable then realised the clipper screws were loose. Little better after tightening. Considering the price, it is great piece of kit.(y)

It’s ok. These aren’t great. Get pretty hot and as already said they are like using a jack hammer. I also found it’s hard to blend between one grade and the next because they go up in big jumps. But for the money they are ok. Not sure how long they will last though.

I found regular oiling helps the heat and I will try the suggestion of tightening the screws to cut down the vibration, although it's not too bad.

I bought a 1.5 guard (£1.45) from Wahl to do the back and sides when I ordered some clipper oil, I use a 4 for the top and use a 3 to help blend.

Even if they break now, I've still saved a fortune and would just buy some more.

They are average, doing multiple times give evenness. They jump in numbers no .5’s, so buying one would help. Not much heat, may be because I oil it before and after use. For the price and compared to Barbar shop, first cut itself returned the money.

I've had them for over a year. They do vibrant like mad and overheat if you use lower lengths. It's really hard to blend in the sides. If you have your hair short then yes go for them as they do the job.

Done that before. Had a pseudo-nike swoosh on the side of my head near the back that I'd missed!
I bought these a few weeks ago, given myself two haircuts using YouTube tutorials by the One Minute Barber and Tips For Clips. This most recent haircut was as good as any I've had a barbershop.

Would that be the two screws on the metal plate of the trimmer or the plastic screw on the side?

The ones on the trimmer
oil and clean regularly and they should last a few years
These are really good but without a doubt you need cordless.
Decent little offer. Thanks for sharing @olivercadden
Tried my hardest to get these during lockdown and now they are available again and the barbers are now open Argos can **** off.
Just ordered these from Amazon for £12.49 with student discount amazon.co.uk/gp/…h=1

Not sure what the difference is between these and the argos ones apart from the colour!

Heat added for the deal for those without Amazon Prime student or prefer argos

Anyone know where you can get guards in half sizes for these
This has been posted before. I read the Amazon reviews and very mixed... decided not to buy.

0.5 and 1.5 available from the Wahl website.
I've been using these during lock down and I agree pretty hard to blend the sides.
Also the guards are a bit flimsy so if you apply a bit too much pressure they bend you get an in consistent cut.

But generally pretty decent. If you're not fussy

I second this. Always oil! Also the arm that adjusts the blades will help with the distance between clipper snap ons. You get what you pay for and at this price these more than fulfil the asking price.. personally I would spend less than £40 on a set but to each his own. I’ve gotten REALLY good at cutting my own hair now it’s not quite barber shop but way better than I would have though possible!

There is no "arm that adjusts the blades" on this...I have had this same model for a couple of years now and its been fine. The one I had previous was a Babyliss and that did have a lever....I much prefer this.

Doubt. Never as powerful and invariably discharge halfway through a cut.

Oops, basic maths misinterpretation there on my part. In which case 0.05cm is quite reasonable for a scalping. Of course can always go with no guard!

I've owned this brand for years. Never had the issues you describe.
Got these in the week, not too shabby
Do not buy - worse product I’ve purchase from Argos. Does not cut well and you have to go over the same area several times.
Paid £60 for these on eBay during lockdown as these were disappeared everywhere OR people who sell online took them all to sell on a higher price

Just noticed the no lever.. shame. Still probably good for the money?

If anyone doesn’t want their No1 clip on let me know mines escaped and gone stealth! Expert level hiding skills there’s literally nowhere it can go? :/ crazy.. I found 4 plectrums during the search which I suppose is one upside..
Never going to get a sick fade without a lever. These clippers are for the people that like the same length all over and end up looking like a microphone.

I just found the adjustment arm on my last clippers (Babyliss) a pain to use...all it seemed to do was stop the blades making the awful clattering sound....it was only a cheap set of clippers anyway so i dare say it would prob work properly on a professional set.

I much prefer this set without it. It's worth bearing in mind they are just for average home use and are good value at the price so are obviously not going to perform as well as a professional set.

Also Charliemike luckily I do just have an all over Number 3 or 2 haircut (my wife does it for me) and I Shure (see what I did there ) do like the way my head looks like a microphone
