Thanks guys Adamkhan, i'm not totally sure, as you say Amazons description isnt as clear as it should be.

I would presume that the Nasal Trimmer, takes normal batteries ( you could use rechargeable ones)

That nose-trimmer on the left takes 1AA. From that I'd guess the trimmer takes the other two.

The trimmer does take 2 AA batteries, I actually have one of these sets, but without the nose trimmer and scissors, it cost me a similar price so it's a fairly decent deal.

The trimmer itself is distinctly average, not too good, and not too bad.

I need new hair clippers, not ready to use a razor yet and current one is on the way out. + bonus of hairclippers

bought this clipper for £7 in argos couple of months ago, very uneven cutting after couple of uses. bought a babyliss (sp?) one to replace which has been great

Nice find I needed some more and a snip at this price Thanks Cat!

I have been using clippers to cut my own hair for quite a few years now, i just do a simple all over grade 3 so well easy. The amount I must of saved on paying a hairdresser, unbelievable.

ive just ordered one! Looks promising!

Voted hot. Needed some clippers. Thanks.

bought exact same set from argos many years ago. Although its still running strong, its not very good and the blades wear out quickly

great price though.

Thanks...

the ****** is A-Holes!
indeed!

may i just add that TK Maxx had these for about the same price lat year - i was going to buy them until opened the box and the clippers imho had a very light 'plasticky' feel to them - unlike the nice metal ones the actual hairderesses use.......it may look like stainless steel in the picture but they are plastic. I do of course stand corrected so if any one thinks i'm wrong about these then just say :-)

Hmmm, ive been thinking of starting to cut my own hair....how easy is it? I tend to go for a 2 sides 'n' back, and just short on top....would that be easy to do on your own...? Any advice from regular self-cutters would be appreciated

Nice one. I heard Wahl is god quality.

Is this one better for haircutting - appreciate that it's not cordless, but some negative comments about the Wahl?

hotukdeals.com/ite…if/

200 posts!!

those nicky clarke ones would definately be better for cutting hair i reckon, the wahl ones are all over market stalls nowadays and show their price after couple of uses

I have gone through about six of the main type of trimmer here as they are great for keeping my hair short as I train/swim normally once or twice a day, so can have a shower and my hair washed three times a day. So obviously its best being short to dry quickly.

The ones with the changeable blades were all that was available until I got this which is rechargeable (but can be used on mains too) and has a stepping motor to adjust its own blade length from 0.5mm to 30mm (it uses two heads - a beard one and a hair one - the hair one goes from a '1' at 3mm to a '10' at 30mm. I use the hair one for beard and hair - but for less than 3mm you would need the beard blade - or removing the blade makes it 0.5mm). There is an LCD display showing the setting in mm and using the traditional cutter length system.

I think the best model - and the one shown here is the 7930U - which I cannot fault, however...

I guess I spend two hours a week sitting stopped in traffic - and this one is rechargeable - and has suction to prevent the clipped hair from falling.

QT4045 is the model number.

Just bought "Remington Ceramic Hair Cut Kit" at Argos Was 29.99 now 19.96 Item No. 442/2598

Apparently the ceramic blades last longer and there is no need for oiling, it can be run off the mains and is rechargeable, (no batteries) plus you get a nose trimmer.

Did look at the Wahl, bit of a mine field, liked the sound of the blades on the Remington whether they last longer I will see.

How short can I cut before the dreaded itching?

Bad choice. I had this set, and the ceramic blades did need oiling every use and it only really cuts properly when plugged into the mains as operating from battery power slows the motor down.

I've been using the Wahl 79900-1017 Clip n Trim Mains Clipper! (amazon.co.uk/Wah…1-3), which has not needed oiling yet, cuts well and operates from the mains.

I think that to get decent cordless clippers you have to get professional standard clippers and then the price is around £100+.

Sounds like bad choice of mine, shame this post didnt come up last week!

I shave my head regularly and it dont itch, unless you talking about shaving somewhere else...please no.

I've been using my Wahl clippers for years now and they're superb. Mind you, mine are different to this model. I got mine from a local hairdressers suppliers shop at about double the price of this offer and they're the same ones that they use in the salons - very durable and professional quality and don't sound anything like how people are describing this model.

I've put one set of new blades in mine in about 7 or 8 years.

My advice...pay the extra and see the difference it makes.
