Either of these good for beard trimming or completely shaving face and body ?

Wahl is a good brand, but all the cheap models are crap, as are all the cheap models from every other manufacturer.
They lack power, and pull and snatch, even on my very thin thatch. On thick strong hair, they are totally useless.
If these are "good reviews," then you are easily pleased!

Best thing I ever did was buy a proper professional WAHL clipper, the "Super Taper" model is the "standard" pro model, it's a lot more expensive, and you will be lucky to get it at £40, but worth every penny, and with domestic use will probably last a lifetime, but it will save a real fortune.

You want something with a finer cutter designed for defining. I often trim my goatee with my WAHL clipper, because it's easy to get straight finish with the longer head; but it's not for the faint hearted as on a face it can nick very easily! Yes it will trim a beard, but it's not the best for the job. (The Phillips trimmer is the commonest one I have seen, with a good write up, but I just have a cheap Remington one, I wouldn't like to use it a lot though, these domestic things are just a bit feeble.)

Not that I have used it that way, but I imagine it would be even riskier on softer body skin, I think I would be looking at the professional heavy duty ranges which can clip very close and have a fine comb.

Besides, hair clippers are intended to cut to a minimum length of about 0.5mm, whereas finishing clippers go to as near zero as possible.
Look at one of the hairdressers wholesalers for examples of what is available:

Most wahls are pretty good, even the budget ones arent too bad. I went for the gold one that is designed for afro hair, Im white but figure that its gonna have to be pretty powerful and sharp to cut black peoples hair and it works really well (cheap too), looks cool to and you can pretend your in a Mississippi barber shop. Reccomended.

Hot from me, I use Wahl and they are class!

is it any good for trimming beard?

Erm, those reviews are not for the model in this deal. Thanks anyway.

Please read the reviews for the correct model, as they are more than favourable.

They are ALL pretty ropey, but what else do you think is in ALL the cheap models, it's the same innards , and combs! I have an old cheap one myself.

Ceramic blades are the way forward if you use these, last a lot longer than metal blades & no need for gunky oil

Cheers, nihcaj, budd.
