Waitrose Granola 1Kg bag of Banana Pappaya & Honey Oat. Reduced from £2.30 to £1.72, which is a great price, and also on PYO, so further reduced to £1.38.

Waitrose Granola 1Kg bag of Blueberry & Cranberry Oat Crunchie. Reduced from £2.50 to £1.87, and also on PYO, so further reduced to £1.50

Big 1Kg bags, part of their Love Life range, and I think it's a bargain at this price.

Had to search for 'oat cruchie' and it came up.

Many thanks OP.

Yes, sorry about that. The Mods link takes it to a Waitrose site that lists Banana and Papaya, which is also on PYO, but not to the Blueberry and Cranberry. So have 'hopefully' put individual links to these products below:

Thanks for pointing it out.
Please note that the Honey Raisin Almond Oat is 25% off, but not on PYO. So currently £1.72, which is still a good buy!
Good spot. Heat added.
nice, but 20% sugars which is more than a digestive biscuit! :-(
Any nice granola with something nearer 10%?

The 16/17% RI of sugars shown on the website link, is with 125g of semi-skimmed milk.
The values on the packing show 9% or 8/8.5g of sugar without milk. I use a sugar free yogurt, and a drop of skimmed milk to keep it near to that value.

The website states 20.1% sugar by dry weight.

The website states 20.1% sugar by dry weight.

Thanks for your comment. I thought I was eating well by taking the nutrition label saying 8% sugar (9% RI), that that was what it contained. Can you help me out in explaining how to determine the dry weight, please? I can't find it on the Waitrose page, so presume it has to be calculated somehow....and I am trying to keep my sugar intake as low as possible!

Click on the bit that says Nutrition then look under the "per 100g" column. Food manufacturers try to confuse people by quoting figures per serving or as a percentage of recommended daily allowance. It's designed to mislead and confuse. And it's working beautifully!

Thanks for your help dwl99, but still not getting your take on this. 100 grams of Granola contains 20.1 grams of sugar.
A 40 gram portion contains 8 grams of sugar.
So how can a 40g portion of granola contain 20.1g of sugar?
The values on the packing show 8 grams of sugar without milk for a 40 gram portion. So I must assume that a 40 gram portion contains 8 grams of sugar, and not 20.1 ......what am I missing?

Showing as £2.30? Am I missing something....

It doesn't, it contains 20.1%. So you are right that there is roughly 8 grams in that (mini?) portion size.
