Found 14th Jan
This has been my go-to for the 2 weeks and I can't believe I didn't bother posting this here.

I drink milk based drinks using my barista express so I'm not a espresso purest. Saying that they taste nice, strong and chocolatey.

Hands down the best and FRESHEST beans that'll you'll find in a supermarket.

I've actually put my subscriptions on hold as I'm stocked to the brim with these beans.

I've attached a picture of the beans I've picked up last Friday the 11th.

How does one hand roast a coffee bean... Not a great deal must coffee bags are 227g for cheaper.
What's the point of that cardboard box it sits in?

Interested where you can get freshly roasted coffee for cheaper? I usually pay about £15/kg so this is a good deal for a smaller quantity if the coffee is decent...

Looks more ponceified for the Waitrose clientele.
Good coffee for the price. Thanks for the heads up.

They stand up better on the shelf. The bags are generic with just a date stamp on the bag. The details about the various coffees they offer are on the little boxes.

By using a small manually operated roaster as opposed to a giant automated roaster in a factory.

Have to disagree, this is a good deal for quality coffee. Plenty is cheaper, it's not equal.
I picked up a few bags on Saturday, does anyone know when this offer ends?
Better to take the photo of the beans inside.

Updated original post.
Good effort, no idea about the taste though
Fantastic coffee - thanks for the heads up, Pips!
Not that fresh. Could possibly be 12 months old. Usually more expensive and much better buying directly from Union Direct.

Revelation blend is one of the best espresso blends you can get.

I picked up a bag 4 days after the roasted date.

Yeah, Union is quality coffee, done properly. Well sourced, very high quality, expertly roasted, for flavour, not 'strength'. Took delivery of three different bags of beans on Tuesday. They were roasted the day before.

Photos suggest this is freshly roasted (<7 days) so if the blend is as good as you suggest then this is a great deal

Wow, that's a stroke of luck. I check the bags in local stores whenever I go in and they've always been a good few months old.

Offer valid until 22nd January 2019
Love it. Ive been buying all my coffee for years, direct from Union Handroasted. As has been said, it is roasted & delivered within a day or so. Quality coffee sourced responsibly. Bags of beans keep fresh in the freezer, and sufficient are milled when coffee-making, meaning proper aroma. Try this, and you won't go back to non-aroma instant, or stale ground coffee.
Revelation and Yayu Forest Ethiopia are same price online as well. This is an excellent deal. Union know their coffee and are passionate about their craft.

Their Ethiopian coffees are amazing. About time Union got some well deserved love around here.

Indeed. I always have the same (bad) luck.

Still, nice find OP. I do enjoy these beans too.
Just added some to my Ocado shop. They are currently £4 on Ocado if you can’t be bothered to leave the house. Ah just realised can order online from Waitrose too!

btw, how do these keep fresh the best (do people keep in fridge) and do people freeze these to keep freshness if stocked up, thanks

These beans are fantastic and this is the cheapest I've ever seen them! I purchased a few bags last week but also didn't think to post! Do no hesitate to try these, they are one of my favourites for espresso!

I just can't stomach it's normal RRP.
I usually pay around £18 per KG, It'll be sad times when these beans are no longer on offer.

A few years ago it was very well frowned upon to freeze beans.
Now it seems acceptable and even encouraged when buying large quantities on offer.

I've never frozen beans myself, just make sure after freezing pour out the beans onto a plate to evaporate any access moisture before placing them into a hooper.
Were 2 for £7 on Ocado however great to know they are available from Waitrose for even less. You either get this deal or you don’t... I do! Thank op
thanks for the post, I'll grab some to try after all the positive comments
In addition to the revelation blend pictured above they also had the yayu wild forest ethopia at this price in Hove. Both were roasted on Jan 8th this year.

I've just tried a cup, so much nicer than my normal bean - thank you

No that’s what you call a fresh roasting!

Moisture of any sort does not mix with storing coffee. Avoid the freezer. Buy small amounts rather than stocking up. Beans keep best in airtight (or vacuum sealed), opaque containers, in a cool, dry place. Many storage containers sold for coffee will have a valve to vent carbon dioxide released by the beans, a bit pointless really if you're opening the container regularly.

How are you brewing? The Revelation blend is an espresso blend through and through, as dark a roast as Union go (wisely not as dark as the usual strong espresso blend). The Yayu Forest, as an Ethiopian, is a perfect filter/pour over coffee, although I also really like Ethiopian coffees as espresso - try it in an Aeropress.

I order from Union a couple of times a month for my espresso/Aeropress beans because I know it's worth it. I'll source something cheaper, usually from coffee-direct.co.uk, just as freshly roasted, to go through my pour over machine for the brew I take to work every day when I'm just trying to stay hydrated. I'd recommend their Barista Reserve blend at £16.99 for 908g or the Coast Rica coffee for £17.99 for 908g. Oh, and their 1kilo bags of hot chocolate are amazing.

I picked some up at Waitrose tonight (beans) which were roasted on the 11th which I didn't think was bad. I'm looking forward to trying them.

Much appreciated info here Pokey.
I've just started getting my feet wet, I'm ashamed to say I've just started my journey from instant coffee.

Since picking up my Barista Express I've really enjoyed milk based drinks using house blends from a few roasters. What I've noticed is that current my palate is accustomed to Arabica beans and that of a medium roast.

I want to dabble in the aeropress/pour over in the future to really get the most out of freshly roasted beans and make out suttle notes.

In the mean time I'm enjoying my flat whites and I'm 100% sure, allowing me to cover up my over/under extracting methods!
I use a Bosch bean to cup machine which I think makes excellent coffee. I have had good results with Rave, although I didn't like it as much as I had hoped I would, I have high hopes for the Revolution.

Rave is the first fresh beans order I placed.
I got a mixture of beans and really settled on their Mocha Java Blend, really tasty.

Would a Hessian sack be more appropriate?
Does anyone know if this offer is still on?
