Most of John Lewis half price hampers now out of stock so hope this helps someone.

I bought one a year or two back and thought it was lovely - really nice quality things inside.

I know many will say the items inside still don't add up to overall cost but if you need a last minute gift and have no the time to build your own then this is the best time to buy.

Not voting either way. I normally just go to Asda, pick up 3 cans of value Kidney Beans, 3 packet soups, a Fray Bentos pie, mincemeat jar, some Werthers Originals, Cheesy Footballs, value Brandy Butter, a clementine and some nuts. Put them in a bag. Take bag home and simply put Sellotape around the bag. Voila, individual, wrapped, creative, personalised present. (Pro-Tip - turn the bag inside out before placing goods in there, so it doesn't look like an Asda bag, but home-made crepe plastic. )

*Only downside is the extra 10p you now have to spend on a plastic bag. But, it is Xmas. And she is my wife, so deserves that little dose of luxury.

(Please note, blatant c+p from previous hamper thread. It's the adulation I thrive for.)

It's my first post and I don't know how to add picture if anyone can help please?
Thank you
They still seem outrageously overpriced

I'm not arguing with you. But they are still cheapest of their kind so best time to buy if that is something you would buy. So still a deal.
great idea for a last minute deal
A deal is a deal.

Heat added!
Well done on a great first post, it's a hot deal. Ignore those who can't see value when it's presented.
I am tempted to buy for myself, thanks
Still not quite cheap enough for me. Heat added though.

I most certainly did not copy and paste anything! And your hamper sounds cheap and nasty and if you gave that to me I would think you didn't like me very much

LOL, dunno which is funnier, Sopha's hysterical comment (which was also posted on yesterday's JL hamper thread) or OP's indignant retort.

This very much sounds like sarcasm - as for the reply - comes across that expensive gifts is your taste. Christmas isnt about how much people spend on gifts weather its 5p or 5 grand. Its about spending time with family and love ones. Some aint that fortunate.
No delivery to NI.
yep straight over.

Expensive, no, quality yes. I make my own edible gifts. cheap ingredients but lovely quality results. Not sure what is worse a little sarcasm or a lot of self righteousness...

Glad to entertain. I'm usually the last to twig!
Was about to buy cheese one , but even wife said wtf 15 for a jar of chuck.small pack of crackers .and 3 cheese..a 1st for her.
It's half price so a deal but can't help laughing at the Michael Mcintrye joke about always telling friends you are just nipping to Waitrose.
I think they will go down even more as the bb date is the 3rd Jan. Thanks for the post.
Expensive packaging for what get even at half price! But a deal, just not one for me.
The guy who left this review isn't going to be a very happy bunny, now it's half price!!... should be a member of HUKD's then he would know they go half price at this time every year.

"★ 1 out of 5 stars. · 2 days ago
Very well packed, delivered on time
Very pleased with contents, but whole situation was spoilt when I followed a lead on the delivery notice email which led to a section stating that I could order the self same article for £50.00 less. What was the point in ordering an article in early November, to find out that if I had waited to a date nearer to Christmas it would be cheaper. I wil NOT be ordering from Waitrose again."
I have to vote this cold as it is a clear rip off and was NEVER worth £150. It's not even worth the £75 they are now charging. Just because they tell you it's in a sale doesn't mean it's good value...

God she is slow with the banter..
I like it when OP's stick around to defend their posts.
thanks - ordered the Christmas Celebration Hamper
Thanks. Was wondering what to get my fave aunt and just ordered her a hamper. Heat
10% Quidco as well - thanks
Just trying to work out if this is a good deal, so breaking the price down:
Tesco Finest Camembert = £2.25
Wensleydale with Cranberry Truckle Waitrose = £2.50
Wokey Hole 454g = £5.50, so 250g = £3.03
Biscuits = £3
Chutney = £2.50 (guess)
Stilton = £5.40 (200g) 20 150g = £4.05
Chiraz = £6.99

Total = £24.32

£15 sounds an ok deal (Waitrose prices not compare to Aldi prices)
Going to buy it as a Christmas present, nice and easy...

Just wait, looked again it's £25 half price!!!!
Not a great deal, unless the "all presented on a woven tray" is woven with gold"

But you also get FREE delivery - which for something this size must be worth about £5+
So for a last minute gift (wish I has ordered before noon!!) I think they are a good deal.

Plus the fact he's got prices from tesco and waitrose thats double postage or 2 trips worth of petrol. All to save himself 68p. Plus then also having to sell 204g of wokey hole for £2.47 :).

You're missing one trick, Asda do bags for life for 6p each. Not only are you saving 4p, you are giving a gift that keeps on giving
I had one of these hampers 2 years ago and for quality and contents it out shone everybody, at the time there was an extra 25% off too. Last year I hung on for the bhs expensive one for £60 down from £200, priced it all up and it totalled around £90 but with the hamper which are good for storage it was pretty much ok and the contents can redirected for upcoming birthdays and Mothers day. That said I'll keep on looking at Waitrose for a better offer, hopefully.
Any of these come available for collection? It only lets me add to basket if i choose a delivery date to home which is 29th
Good spot OP, heat added.
