Now's your chance to experience this gripping read for the first time or catch up on the tale with the first four years worth of material, collected in one volume for the first time.

Since 2003, Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead has been redefining the survival horror genre with its unique and vivid account of life after the end of the world. Although the cast is diverse and often changing (including, of course, a great number of zombies), at the heart of every tale is Rick Grimes: former police officer, husband, father, and de facto leader of a ragtag band of survivors looking to make a future for
themselves in a world that no longer has one. To call The Walking Dead a zombie tale is accurate to a point, but it touches on only one facet of a story that asks timeless questions about what it means to live. It also asks whether or not this is possible in a world full of the dead. This is a great opportunity to experience this gripping read for the first time or catch up on the tale with the first four years worth of material, collected in one volume for the first time.

Collects Volumes 1-8.

How can it be a gripping read if it doesn't even manage it on TV?

This, GOT, all the Marvel films, X men, Harry Potter - has just convinced me that there are a lot of people living in fantasy land.

Zombies, dragons, flying broomsticks - glad it pleases some people. Just imagine if there weren't these outlets for them!!!?

fantasy and fiction have been around far longer then got or harry potter. the Bible probably showcases one of the earliest and most popular pieces of fiction available.

You're right, as the old adage goes, "the TV adaptation is always superior to the original written material, both in scope and execution".

It is worth pointing out that TWD the TV show doesn't follow the comics that closely, often it just takes rough themes or ideas rather than the direct plotline. That said, if you don't like TV shows about the collapse of society, personal sacrifice and how pressure affects one's relationship with oneself, others and the immediate environment, well you probably won't like the comic it's based on either.

Stick to the Beano, it's far more grounded.

I thought this was a good price for a digital version ? As I have a young child and am worried about him ripping pages if I bought the books. Seems not too many comics readers liked this deal

Probably people just piling on for no good reason. These are good prices even when compared with when the individual 6 issue volumes are on sale for £3.99 each. However now that all three compendiums are available as books rather than bundles they may be even cheaper the next time there is a line wide Image discount voucher.
