useful in places where sockets are already in use so you can use USB charging ports without plugging in a multiway extension.

I had these installed in by bedroom last year and USB is useless as it takes several hours to change so if anyone is thinking of buying for the usb then don't waste your money.

But then you are using up a plug socket. I use usb sockets (Not these ones but similar) in rooms where both plug sockets are in use to provide a phone/tablet charging point without having to plug in a multiway extension.

Always possible but the usb ports are always live.Worth noting especially if you decide on multiple units.
