Succulent Shiitake in a rich black bean & ginger sauce.
Mild.

Kit contains: marinade seasoning, rich black bean & ginger sauce, dried Shiitake mushrooms, Chinese noodles.
In this dish based on a traditional Chinese recipe, there is a bold balance between the succulent mushrooms and a deep, rich sauce containing ginger and fermented soya beans.

price good however I had the other variety BO LUO PORK recipe kit & not that nice, sorry

Depends on taste I suppose, I had the pork and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good price, heat added.

I was quite excited to try this recipe out as I love mushrooms and black bean sauce. So I had cooked the chicken with the included marinade, added the mushrooms and veggies, and then went to the last step, adding the black bean sauce in.

Immediately after pouring it in, there was this horrifically foul smell from the pan, it was like a very chemical-like and sharply acidic. Smelt like really bad vinegar, but only worse. I thought the smell might go away, so tried some of the food but had to spit it out and throw all the food away as every time I tried it I got nauseous. And this is from me, someone who eats everything and rarely complains about any kind of food.
This is definitely NOT edible!

I think that the quality of this brand has definitely gone down. It used to be one of the best brands in Asia, but the current UK incarnation of it is just bad, and if you look closely at the label, its now made by a western food company called General Mills. You're much better of getting proper black bean sauce at a Chinese supermarket!
