I know this will get cold, but thought I'd let people know.

You no longer have to buy the base game to play WoW, just a subscription of £9.99 a month.

Considering the base game came with 30 days sub and could be found cheaper than a tenner on occasions I really see this as a marketing trick.
It's up lvl 110 according to title. So that includes current content. Obviously an attempt to get you to purchase the upcoming expansion, but that's not bad deal if you ask me.

Yeah, they do a "complete edition" which is £44.99, that includes Battle for Azeroth and a month's game time. New accounts only.

If you're starting out. There's plenty of content to see in the game without the latest expansion.

I tried the beta for BFA, played a few levels. It's not bad, but I've out grown Wow over the years. (started day one of vanilla). Had my share of addiction and relapse with that game.
Voted hot, it's a good deal.
I think looking at it nowadays the subscription price is something straight out of the 00s, especially considering how they triple dip with a new expansion purchase and microtransactions.

Still, heat for letting people know.
Heat Added so many hours of game play which is the problem don't get addicted to it.
If you have the time to sink into it, there’s a lot of game for £9.99 a month. It’s such an amazing universe to expierence for the first time.

Though that said, much of the older content is feeling very dated now.

Never had issues with relapses but yeah, outgrown a good 5 years back (whenever siege of Orgrimmar was in panda). Tried to go back a couple of times but just doesn't hook at all any more.

Played since beta, I quit when Cata came out, tried getting back into it many times but could never find the hook again.

Pretty much same here, but it can hit at any time.

When the BFA trailer came out, I wasn't interested. And here I am trying to complete Legion Pathfinder achievement
Amazing when you think about how much content this is.... For me this is the best game in regards to how much you get. People complain about the subscription while buying games every month... Well this is one game with enough content to keep you busy for years. You'll burn out for a month or more, but with new content always added and events you can come back with loads to do.
To everyone who lost interest...are you not liking Legion? (if u have tried it).
I am loving it. I always return at some point and BFA looks to be amazing too.

I really love the idea of Warmode. The ability to turn PVP on or off no matter your server. Everything just sounds awesome.
I love the artifact system too, even though that is now gone in pre patch (kinda) the whole thing felt epic and the story telling is getting really good now too and the game really brings you into it now. I've been obsessed again. It's so good!

Subscription. For a game? A boring one at that?
Nope. Not for me.

I only went back when friends all decided to attack a new content patch. But siege of Orgrimmar was my last raid that really hooked me week in week out.
Warlords and legion I went back for a month here and there but never really played much of those expansions. I got zero interest in BFA.

The games still fun for its questing, but I don't feel like I'm hooked into playing it.

I don't have that drive to log in 2-3 times a week to raid 3-4 hours. That's what puts me off the game. If I can't make the time to raid there's no point. I played legion very casually got to around 930ilvl with a few raid boosts the raid before last. Didn't enjoy the game as much.

Suns out so I'm out more often in my free time. Gym, skateboarding, cycling etc. That they feel more appealing over Wow.

Wow is a great game, don't get me wrong. Played alpha, beta and vanilla right up through each expansion. But after they changed Ret Paladins in wotlk to holy power I lost my first character over the changes. Landed as a mage for cata then into a shadow priest for Firelands. But the class changes keep tweaking classes so they feel terrible.

Shadow priest in BFA is fun (on the beta) but without raiding and not a PvP fan. There's a lack of content for me.

Mop frost mage was fun , reminded me off the old proc based Ret paladin from wotlk. But legion it was tweaked again and yet again finding a new class.
Would agree it's pretty content heavy for the money. Most/many folks are pushing the latest (content) though so... it's kinda lonely till that point.
Getting through and set ready to raid/similar end-game is pretty decent though. Made an awful lot of friends over the years from it (and... eh, the odd... hook-up). It can be awfully social as gaming goes if done right.
Yeah, I know what you mean, that's why I've created a character who is guildless. I'm even appearing offline.

I don't want to be pressured into doing content. Play when I want to play and do LFR... I'm happy for now

Yeh I get that! I've been searching for a "main" ever since TBC!
Legion has really improved a lot of what I like though and I am almost there.

Kinda stuck between a few classes at the moment but my latest I am loving is Warrior. Though a few weeks ago it was Demon Hunter, before that it was Death Knight. I keep changing my mind lol.

Always more melee but I think Warrior in BFA is amazing, feels like there is no downtime and it's just fun!
I've always liked Palas too but more so for tanking.

I've been thinking about skateboarding a lot recently, I haven't done it properly in years but I do pop out now and then for a daft little go, usually on my birthday haha. Been meaning to more recently but been too hot and I just can't stand the thought of it in this heat!

My issue with the class changes is everything feels like this;
CD's > burst > maintain for 2 mins > CDs > burst.
I like a little rng in my cycles to make the rotation a little different, wotlk devine storm random resets from tier set bonus.
Mop frost mage had loads of random procs.

If I were to do BFA I'd probably go shadow priest. Has a fairly solid rotation with the 60 insanity talent (110 bottom left ).

You need to pick up the board again! But I agree it's been really hot to skate about. Always end up going home with a burnt neck after a good sesh.

Yeh! The thing doing my head in is every expansion the add stuff then remove stuff, add stuff. It's like they can't make their mind up and WoW is now a massive testing ground lol. The amount of times they have added a stat, removed a stat, change a stat, put it back etc...

I do!! Soon as it is a bit cooler, or I wake up early enough to avoid all the kids I will go skate a bit haha. I have no excuse there is a tiny little skatepark 2mins from where I live!

I know what you mean. I don't mind seeing stats going like armour pen etc. Reforging was nice but the removal of hit and expertise was better.

Its removing spells to make classes easier is a problem. I made a tanking demon Hunter and warrior early legion (after the warrior shield pain nerf). It had about 4 abilities... Like really??

Haha. I'm in the same boat morning skates or no skates. Hate the busy park times , but we got a sweet new park 15 mins cycle from home. The hype has died down so anything up till 4pm is fairly quiet most days. Just a shame I've pulled my thigh so taking it easy for a week. But I'll be on the board Saturday, just joined up with one of the local guys and doing skateboarding instructing for the younger kids.

Always amuses me this. I spend hours on this a month, even if it was only 2 hours in a month, that's under £5 an hour, cheaper than the cinema. Indirectly it saves me money, because I don't keep buying ever CoD, Fifa, Destiny etc to scratch each itch. Those three in a year would cost more than the WoW subscription for the year. The boring part is subjective of course.

You have overlooked the fact that this includes Legion content, which would have set you back at least an extra £10. So it's actually cheaper.

Oh sweet, bet that is fun. Do you get paid to instruct or just doing it for free?
I noticed my friend from my hometown started doing this and I think he gets paid for it.

What an amazing job. Teaching something you have done all your life and loved!

Ditto, it's extremely cheap when you think about it. The biggest problem I have since starting an MMO is now every single player game feels wrong. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T SEE OTHER PEOPLE? and talk to them? UGH, WRONGGG! lol.

What do you mean I can't get an evolving ever changing world with other people with something new to always work towards...UGH!

Ha, just my struggles with single player games now.
I still have to play some single player games but I do struggle when I have the MMO addiction currently active. It's becoming so much of my obsession at the moment that I am tempted to recruit myself play twice and earn so much Gold that I can afford to pay with Gold and never use real money for WoW again! (which is actually doable on 1 account rather easily so if you have 2...)

I don't think the price increase to the sub some time ago was neccesary but I guess they CAN do it so why not. I'll of course still keep playing and paying like the majority will.

I sometimes struggle with the idea of paying for a sub too BUT then I always think back to the simple way of "the cinema or a meal out costs this and it lasts a few hours at best!, you are getting a full month of entertainment here for only £9.99 ish". Bargain really.

This all of course is a bargain if you are enjoying it, otherwise just don't play

At the moment as I'm assisting I get a small cut for the hour. But will be taking over the Saturday lesson and have a few one on one sessions booked through August. So hopefully it'll be a decent side project down the line
