bargain

Wow has the price of that game bombed!

You can get achievements on this game too.

Top game. Scorching price!

Is that really much of a selling point?

Sadly, to some, yes..

Well I got it as part of the epic THQ deal, but it's well worth RRP nevermind a fiver. The best way to describe it is a strange marrriage of Dawn of War and Gears of War, with some RPG thrown in too!

Cracking game ... bargain price.

This game is epic. I cannot explain why the cost of a game so good has rocketed down. Worth a fiver of anyone's money,

Cheaper than a couple of pints down my local, bargain.

its bombed simply because its related to a toy soldier game that is considered geeky and nerdy
its strange that computer games arent nowadays!!!

great game i bought it for £15 still way worth it
annoying this is that you have to use steam and windows live in order to even play it offline

Tbh that is probably right on the money which is a shame because the WH40K universe is one of the most detailed and engaging out there. Certainly more so than the Halo universe.

It's odd that the Dawn of War games are the only really good 40K games but I'm holding a glimmer of hope for the upcoming Space Marine game.:geek:

Oh and great price btw.

Brilliant price! Ordered, thanks for that! Heat & rep added.

CEX give £11 Exchage for this and £9 cash back

haha, I guess we have the console generation to thank for that being considered a breakthrough amazing feature

Good price. The campaign is good, the multiplayer was lacking on release. However, the game now has a Last Stand multiplayer mode, which is absolutely fantastic, and easily worth your cash on its own at this price.

Xbox live acheivements ?

Achievements are good because they add new challenges to a game.

heat & hey ho, ordered one, hope no compatibility issues with win7

Because it uses stupid drm/copy protection, whatever you want to call it. I got it a few weeks ago when it was £10, downloaded the crack to avoid all the steam rubbish, no way was I installing all the stuff it wanted me to and going through all of that.

Haha, so tempting...

Though not worth the risk of them dropping their buy prices before play can deliver a half dozen copies.

Sounds like you are reading the marketing BS put out by M$'s 360 department.

i doubt they will because they only have 5 in stock.

their probably thinking "oh demand seems good but not much supply"

hence they wont change the price and a small chance of actually increasing it.

they increased uncharted 1 from like £10 to £16

when the copies build up, they will have no choice but to drop the price again.

so can this be installed on a PC that's never connected to the internet?

Steam really isn't a bad form of DRM, have you ever actually tried it?

alera;7141902

Xbox live acheivements ?

This is a PC game. It has achievements similar to Xbox 360 games however they really aren't that big of a feature.

9.99 now...

Yeh these are the same xbox live achievement that you can get on a few gfwl games. They count on your gamertag which is a big thing for some people.

Not officially but with a search engine and a bit of thought you'll work it out. A "crack only" release was done for this game....so people who bought a legit copy of the game can get all the benefits that the pirates get.

No, I don't like the whole idea of it or any form of DRM

TanyaSpace;7148275

9.99 now...

Yea just added to cart and went to checkout and changed the price to £9.99.
Phone them and they said the system was updating the prices and this is the price now. :x

Back in stock at £4.99, just nabbed one

Not to sure how to Un-expire, does this have to be done by an Admin.....?

You poor, poor, individual.

Steam is not like any other form of DRM, it provides some handy services too like the Steam Community and such. Give it a try, at least then you'll actually know what you're complaining about unfoundedly.

Eh? Acheivements may give you motivation to complete certain challenges but they certainly don't add anything.

I don't want a "Steam Community", I don't play games online and I've no interest in playing games online.

I'm not saying it's bad if that's what some people like to use and how they like to buy their games. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be forced into using it especially since not everyone has an Internet connection or hasn't got a decent connection and not everyone wants some company dictating to them about what they can do with what they've paid for, also some people just don't like companies like that having any form of communication with their PC, personally I don't trust them.

I also oppose any form of DRM because I think it's a waste of money, as waste of money which eventually is made up for by putting up the prices of software. Copy protection will always be broken and all forms of DRM are an annoyance, just take this as an example, if you were to get the pirated version of this game, you'd have a LOT less hassle than people that bought a copy.

I bought the game a while back when it was on offer on Steam, I have had no problems. To be fair, the single player isn't very fun on this particular game though.

Because you obviously already use Steam as you bought it from there, what I mean is, if you don't use Steam and have no intention of using Steam and you've bought this as a physical dvd copy it's really annoying that you then have to install Steam, create an account and activate the game and install some MSN thing and create an account and keep these things installed so that you can play the game, not only do you have to have them installed but they probably by default run on startup like 99% of other software for Windows wants to do. After all of this I think I read that it will then want you to install mandatory updates? More waiting. All of this so that they can control what you do with something that you've paid for.

Now if you get the pirate copy....download, unrar, burn/mount, run setup, run crack, play.

So these DRM systems are supposed to discourage piracy? Seems like encouraging it to me.
