Can vouch for Slaves to Darkness and Wolfsbane. Both really enjoyable.

Never heard of a Primaris marine before. Tempted to have a shot at War of Secrets. I usually only stick to Heresy series these days as I have a clue what's happening there but might try this.

The Primaris marines are the new and improved versions of the space marines, in addition to improved physical enhancements they have fancy new armour, weapons vehicles etc. Roboute Guilliman is back and driven these improvements while Cadia has fallen and the warp rift now covers a massive part of the galaxy. It's never really explained in the books which I guess assume you're familiar with the main warhammer lore.

Interesting! Never knew any of that. I have read a bunch of 40k but it's all very disjointed. Only timeline I know is the Heresy and then a bunch of random stories after it.

Even more enhanced space marines sounds class, need to read up
The Primaris are linked to the Heresy. Remember Belisarius Cawl ? He’s still alive, Gulliman tasked him with creating a new force before he was mortally wounces, that force is the Primaris.
