If you're going by car you also need to add £3.50 per day for parking at the hotel. The castle is £6 to park at, though there's an opportunity to park elsewhere in Warwick and walk. Good price at £88.

Can I book 2 adult and 2 kids but actually go 1 adult and 3 kids?

emribena

I have just used a different browser and gone right through to payment and its £88 for me

guilbert53

I just did the same (as a test) and also got £114. Update - did it again and got £88. Maybe check you selected Family Room. Did it a few more times and getting £88 each time now.

Just tried it now still £88?

Possibly. It depends on how you want to come back next time. There's been a lot of discussion regarding offers at staying over at Warwick Castle (which is where the 'not enough to do on 2nd day came in') but you might want to do that and if you did, it might steer whether you go for the annual pass. For example, we may come back in a year's time, but midweek with an overnight stay and that's cheaper including tickets than an 'anytime' bed and breakfast rate. Also, our Alton passes will expire in August/Sept and we may wait for start of year to get Merlin passes. We're also thinking of possibly upgrading one (but we travel my wife's parents a lot so 4 adults and one child) to an annual pass for the free parking. It depends on your own circumstances, but I don't think you'd lose out even if you just go one extra time.

jonthed

That's what I was thinking, but by visiting right at the start and again right at the end, your annual pass can get you two years visits for a good price?

Sofiaprincess118

Great deal but once a year is enough for me (skeptical)

belturnbull

Was there a couple of weeks ago pretty average day out, 1000 year or so castle too much focus on modern history, even made a big deal about prince Charles having a cup of tea in one of the rooms! Went midweek most food vendors closed burger stall only one open and that closed at 2, bird show was good but definitely not worth the £32

niceblokedave

That unfortunately won’t work anymore , even the children as well as the adults on the passes will have their names and photos on them.

Hi i think this deal has expired as it's no longer available as I would like to go but missed the boat as usual. So it's either 2 for 1 via national rail/ promotional packs or attractiontix if you're an odd numbered family. Works out 13.50 per person and you can decide on the day whether the weather is good enough to be out a lot of the day. heat for the deal and heads up. Jay

vincenzo1188

I`ve tried to book for the 7th April but is says £18. Any idea how I could get cheaper tickets? thanks in advance guys

It's owned by Merlin FFS! Of course it's like a theme park.

comicmankev

Probably not just you, but this is kind of why I really liked it there! More than just ruin, and definitely entertaining. I really like how the staff are generally clearly enjoying putting on the shows. I've been several times with my kids as they were growing up and I'd still like to go again. Pricey at normal times, but at prices like this well worth a visit, although some events are not on until the weather picks up

I had fond memories of Warwick castle from visiting as a kid but we were massively disappointed when we visited, mainly because of the extra cash they try to rinse you for on top of the ticket price (£6 for the carpark, £9 each for the Dungeons, which admittedly was the best part of the visit but that's a fair whack on top of the admission for a family, plus £5 for the archery and £5 for the knight school). When we were there a couple of weeks ago they were overcharging people for drinks and blaming the tills, and even when we pointed it out they carried on doing the same to the people next in the queue! Plus despite all the advertising materials featuring knights jousting that's actually only on a few days a year. The birds of prey show was just about adequate I guess but massively crowded when we were there. God know how you'd stretch it to a 2 day visit - maybe deliberately leave lots of stuff you need in the car so you have to walk there and back a few times at a 30 minute round trip? Incidentally if you want to see a truly amazing and spectacular birds of prey show (one with the sky filled with hundreds of incredible birds, including some diving from a hot air balloon way above you) or a knight/jousting extravaganza that will take your breath away then have a look at Puy Du Fou in France, I really can't recommend that place enough, all the shows will leave you stunned. Obliviously I don't expect Warwick Castle to be competing as they are completely different things, but if you want to see just how good a knight based spectacle can be (or want to visit a Roman Amphitheatre for a chariot race and gladiatorial combat or see viking longboats loot and burn a village etc) then check it out - I wish we had something with that scope and scale the UK.

The main castle remains largely unchanged however It’s been modernised. It’s much more commercialised and geared to making money now Merlin Entertainment took it over, which isn’t such a bad thing as the new dungeon attracts a fair few visitors.

HOTPOT

I last went there in 1956, has it been modernised or is it the same old castle?
