I asked my dentist if I should buy one of these last month. She said that mechanical methods of cleaning between teeth were more effective and recommended these:

tepe.com/uk/…ck/

They're fantastic, better than any other between tooth cleaning thing I've tried and really quick to use. I've not voted either way, but just thought I'd pass that on in case it helps someone.

Problem when amazon bundle reviews like this you don't know which version most of the reviewers are referring to as they're mixed with the more expensive version.

AS batteries aren't strong enough to generate the power needed to do the job well.

What a time to be alive jet washer for your teeth!
Oral fresh pro jet from argos is alot better. Currently at £59.99 but always drops down to £29.99 or £34.99 every few weeks!

If you haven't already, buy the angled tepe brushes. So much easier than fiddling with the smaller siblings

I tried them first, I didn't like them. Find the metal part in the middle of the brush too stabby and the texture of the brush makes me feel a bit icky. Appreciate the suggestion though thanks
Tried many waterpiks over the years and they all broke down around the 12 month mark. A couple of years back I got a Panasonic one which folds into the water reservoir tank when storing or traveling, which, when you realise how awkward these things are to store, is a god send. It takes x2 AAA with which I use rechargeable with no problems. As good as the day I bought it and excellent build quality... in my experience Waterpik has terrible build quality.

Trouble is like dentists say the bristles of the tepe brushes will help clear out the plaque and lessen threats of gum disease. If you think pushing water through your teeth will prevent later gum issues, then would you just rinse your mouth instead of brushing with a toothbrush every day and night? Give them a try again for a good fortnight and you'll get over the 'ickyness'. My threat of gum disease has subsided since using them

I'm not advocating for the water method. I just prefer the picks in the link I posted to the brushes.
Asked hygienist about these at last visit - she said save the money!
