Because it's such a chore identifying when it's dark and switching the light on
Good price though, work the punt at a fiver, but a bit of a joke at £20.

Can't trust "intelligent" lights at the moment. Turning on or off bike lights in time is not difficult at all. Also if this is mature enough, cars would use technique! Sometimes not turning on bike lights can be really really dangerous. I would certainly reply my life on some quality bike lights and turn on/off them by myself!

my kid keeps forgetting to switch the light on, on his bike when doing the paper round. an excellent idea. also keeps leaving it on in the garage, when he does remember to switch it on.

If your kids really are riding bikes on the road, telling/teaching/forcing them to remember turn the lights on would be a better option than simply trusting these lights.

Do you have kids? Because with the best will in the world, they will occasionally forget to turn them on, or you might forget to check, it does happen because I don't live in Utopia, I personally prefer to ride with two red lights, so one of these would be good in addition to the normal light.

Yes! If only somebody could invent automatic lights on cars, that would be amazing. Also what about automatic wipers that came on when it rained - that would be mind blowing!

or even better, imagine if the car could change gear itself too......

Do you really think automatic wipers are a necessity on a bike.

Correct me if I'm wrong but If you put your bike in a shed of a garage, the light will stay on (as its dark) and run the battery's flat, so when you get on your bike the next time and its dark, you assume your light is on when its not and then splat!!! good night god bless. If you think about it this is the most ridiculous idea I've heard for road safety.

I think if you read the product details the light goes off after 120 seconds if no movement is detected regardless of light conditions. Try reading the spec before making "ridiculous" comments

"ridiculous" would be relying on a cheap light to turn itself on and stay on when your riding in the dark, too many factors to go wrong. I think most people have enough "intelligence" to use an on/off switch..... Or possibly not!
