Heard good and bad things about WD recerts, anyone had any experience?

I've bought 4 external elements drives in the past and had a 50% failure.
One failed after a couple of months with the click of death and the other was doa out of the box as none of my pcs' could see it.
Still, the returns and refund process was painless enough.
I buy my second hand drives from CEX now as they give you a two year warranty which is pretty damn good for second user drives.
Last one I bought for £25 had less than 20 hours on the clock.
Oh, and they don't wipe them properly before selling on. Think mine belonged to an eastern European media studies student but it wasn't Czech Casting quality

I thought I was missing something that should have popped up when checking out to give the discount off this deal!
cheers got an order in for a 2TB for the sons xbox one cant grumble at £16 per tb
Can you connect this to your phone and transfer videos etc? Thanks
Thanks, I was needing an external HD for my PS4 Pro.
can you break these open and use them as drives ?
Cheers, been looking for a drive for xbox
went for a yellow 2tb thanks
Thanks, hot from me. 31.99...
Thanks OP, bought one. Instantly regretted not buying 2 as didn't realise CEX would take my 1tb elements for £24 cash, a 8 quid upgrade for a tb would have been nice but nevermind as code is single use!

The old ones you couldn't, i would assume the new ones are the same.
Anyone having trouble getting the Plex code accepted?

Having problems applying code now. Seems to not be taking it.
Already have plex but the bloody codes not taking anything off for me. It's garbage and does not work obviously on sale prices. Cold

Yes.
Damn code aint working..ho hum
Code not working, just signed up for Plex in vain.
Just spoken to WD and Discount code does not work on re-certified or already discounted products. Doesn't say that in the exclusions
Plex: "...the codes are served on a first-come, first served basis."
what do i get with my plex pass? Signed up and the code did not work.

Now I have a plex pass for? :'(

Sorry win, probably didn't make it clear in my previous post but I bought a 3.5" internal which I use in an external dock.
My point was the 2 year warranty offered by cex is good for second user drives ( assuming you make regular backups.)

Thank you anyway.
I have a code but it doesn't apply any discount
Waste of time! Signed up for Plex account, have a trial now. Code doesn't work!!
Got a Plex 20% code but also not working for me on the WD site. Still at £37.50 for the "My Passport Ultra 2TB Brilliant White (Recertified)" I got one anyway - good price!
