Ok. This one is slower, weighs more, more expensive & is bigger? Am I getting there?

Both drives use a 5400RPM drive inside... So really the only advantage of the passport drive is that it's smaller, and £10 cheaper, oh and this exact one comes with extra software but really you can implement the same or similar software on any drive. That said, I have the standard portable drive, transfer speeds are around 150MB/s for large files and it's decently small/lightweight, easily just as portable as the passport drive.

Thank you for the reply. So the other one is the better buy.
Would this be suitable for storing 4K video and using as storage for an nVidia shield?
Got the 2tb one. Have had it for I think a couple of years now and it's been very reliable. All my Xbox games are on it and I have not had any issues whatsoever. It's very small too! Only real gripe would be the noise when up close but other than that its sound.

Don't see any issue. The speed will be plenty for watching 4k from the drive.

I'd have assumed that yes, it would. :-)

Reliability wise, what's the difference between the OP's 5TB portable HDD, and this 5TB portable HDD instead?, or ... thanx.

Totally lost. The same as my old 250GB passport that I cannot find for the life of me. I am not the brightest spark when it comes to IT.
These WD passports develop problems detecting the external hard drive loading after a while. Personally I have stopped buying WD External. I had 2 bad experiences so cold for me.

Rubbish. If you're using it for your console then trust me guys, it's fine.

Hehehehehehe, that's no big at all, trust me, when it come's to I.T., in Today's way of doing thing's, you'd have to literally only blink ONCE, and you'd be already lost in about 1001 new thing's, etc?, so yeh, I get it, lol.

That sort of happens to the best of us, and on a daily basis, all the time I reckon? (and to myself included).

It's the nature of the best these Day's now I guess?, so what can we do, other than "Roll With It"?, lol.

Joke's aside though (physical exterior aside that it), I really don't see much difference between that of the OP's portable HDD, and that of the portable HDD you yourself linked back too earlier, etc. :-D

So long story short, who knows?. :-)

(Other than a personal preference thing, ofcourse?, lol).

Ps.
I too have misplaced my share oh HDD's in the past too, hehehehehehe, so all the best in being able to retrace your steps back enough to be able to eventually find it again, etc.

I believe that if we were to now find alllllll those lost HDD's of ours (that we've lost over time, or whatever), both the portable HDD's + non portable HDD's, then we'll truly alllllll be in HDD heaven from that point on (or something like that?), hahahahahahahahahaha. :-D
