Flac lol
Your keyboard got a dodgy key or two lol

Yeah especially when its a Seagate eh!
I prefer Tosh and IBM drives very reliable!
Well except for the IBM Deathstar!

I use an old laptop for my microserver runs ISA as a firewall as well, answers the phone too and does my webserver as well as serving DHCP for my entire network and DNS - accelarates my internet and its just a single core lappy.
Better than a microserver uses hardly any leccie either and takes up zeros space!

I have posted amazon.co.uk/gp/…81X as a deal, but it has been held up in moderation for the time being. This is the MyBook 8TB, rather than the Elements. It's also 112.99, so well priced.

TOP TIP: If you're looking to shuck a couple of drives to add to a NAS, you could do worse than to order one of each of the drives, an Elements and a MyBook. That way it's less likely that you'll get drives from the same batch - which makes it less likely that they'll fail at the same time.

This is a good strategy if you're looking to do mirroring or RAID.

Trust me, once one disk in an array has failed, the others will all try to hang with the cool kids and do the same thing, and typically at about the same time. Take any advantage you can.

Both should be shuckable according to: reddit.com/r/D…tb/

You might even get different drive types, let alone different batches...

Did you get yours in first? If so, that'll be sorted. Not sure if heat gets transferred though?

Out of curiosity, when you said 20 degrees, is that heat you gave it? Wondering if 20 is your voting power since you mentioned it?

So it is! Wonder if the other thread will get merged into it.
Are these the equivalent to red drives, was going to shuck it then. Thanks

Shouldn't the heat from the other thread have been merged if it got deleted for being a duplicate?
< £15/TB = hot from me.
Does anyone know if this is going to work with WebOS 3.5? I want to plug it in to my 2017 LG TV. I heard that encryption on these WD drives cause some problems if not plugged into PC/laptop but I'm struggling to find a definite answer on the Web. Has anyone used this or similar as external TV HDD?

Heat from me either way, great price.
Now my deal is live for the 8TB. Couple of duplicate about. Not sure what's going on or which will stay!

I lost the heat, so I brought that and put it together, will be helpful for everyone. Just report it, will be alright. if they merger you with it.

I've asked them to merge all into whatever thread they feel is best - don't mind which one, I just think having so many floating around and constantly popping up is going to confuse/annoy people.
Yeah, I understand...

Does webos not support up to 2tb though?
I may be wrong but i think there is a tb limit!
Encryption is done on the daughterboard of the disk so should not affect the tv that is an old wives tale!

I heard that 2tb limit no longer applied, but I have not tried anything larger than 2tb on my own, yet...
