Games are the last thing I would store on this!
Got one of these after Christmas for the PS4. Works great. Have the 12tb for my Xbox One.

I think that levels load faster. So in BF V I used to stair at the loading screen when I was on slow HDD, I installed game on faster drive and I could rush to the flag in conquest mode with few other lucky players.

PC players I am on PC.

Surely you would just use a SSD for PC not old style spinning disk at 7200RPM ?

I have 250gb SSD for system and utilities. 2 x m.2 drives , 250 gb each. One for GOG, the other one for Origin and Uplay. One 3 TB internal for Steam, Oculus and movies and I am running out of space. This black got 250 mb/s in benchmarks. It is a very fast mechanical drive. I got one as I desperately need more space for STEAM, movies, gameplay videos and backup storage for photos which I cant keep on 7 years old 1 TB WD anymore as it is unsafe. It would be awful to loose 20k photos and stuff.

It must be 7200 WD Black.

It's an HGST Ultrastar DC HC520 (or at least my 12TB version was). Good review of the 12TB version on Tweaktown.

Isn’t that an enterprise level drive?

Depends on purpose, SSD and m.2 capacities are still nowhere near spinning metal in terms of value. My pc still has a large capacity Hdd despite all others being m.2nvme

What do you mean by enterpirse level? You mean like for the companies? It is def gaming range. Mine arrived today. 250 mb/s. Thats impressive. I wish I could get m.2, this size for this price. Might need to wait 3-4 years for that.

The 8TB version uses a different drive, non-helium, runs hotter & louder apparently.

Some users claim it runs louder and hotter and other report that it is quiet and temps are ok. Amazon reviewes for 8TB model. I think it runs ok but will have to test it more
This HDD can be put vertically and horizontally thanks to the included stand. Is it ok to put it under the desk? This way I will see lovely branding on this baby?

I have an internal 2TB black drive from ages ago and it is brilliant. Was looking to get another black one for my new pc but they don't make bigger versions than 6TB? I already have 2 external desktop drives and a few portable ones i want an internal one for getting all the games i don't want in the ssd.
I will be honest, I just want it for the looks!:)

Willing to sell my venerable Toshiba X300 and get this:) Looks so purposeful - I am sure Batman is using them exclusively in his batcave!

Surely it must be quality of connection, server and speed of your broadband for online multi games before hardware like hdd?
I mean, I am not saying it does not benefit you in load times but if your network slow and your ping is 3 digits, your hdd won’t help, will it!?:)
