Many thanks for this

My last drive from WD had the stupid micro USB connection - which when moving the drive would pop out:x

This is an excellent price and should compliment my WDTV live.

According to the posts in the old thread the drive inside can be removed from its caddy.

Heat added. Been looking for an external drive that was USB powered.

"Oh WDTV live, I love your hair!"

The PC World deal is actually a little cheaper if you get your 3% back from TopCashBack.

If you prefer delivery, and you are eligible for the free 1 month Amazon prime trial it might arrive earlier than buying it from Dixons

sadly I can't go for the free amazon prime trial again - although theres no rush. I'm sure these will arrive by the end of the week.

...what makes this hard drive more mac compatible than any other?

-Rich-

Oooh hope my voucher arrives before it runs out on here, would rather get it with the £25 voucher towards it than pay full price.

Just ordered one, I was actually looking for an external hard drive over the weekend to try and get another deal on here, glad I didn't find it now.

btw it's for a mac ;-)

These are great. Price won't last - HOT! HOT! HOT!

Ooh clever you - straight to the top of the class!

Its the same price if you reserve and collect at PC World - you dont have to risk the postal dispute if you go that route.

And you still get TopCashBack/Quidco.

Great little device, even survived a drop onto a floor while still running so I can vouch for the build quality !

Outa stock now

no, thats a 3.5 inch desktop hard drive and requires an ac adaptar, this one is portable and is powered via a usb port.

Oh right, is the only difference between them that you don't need a power cord?

and desktop hard drives are bigger, 3.5 inch whereas portable drives are 2.5 inches. Because of the smaller size portable hard drives usally contain a slower spinning 5,400rpm disk therefore it should be slower than a desktop hard drive. Desktop hard drives are better value for money and offer larger capacity.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll buy one of each to make sure!

showing as 73.99 now :?
