I got this previous version of this drive for around £65 last year. You can get the 2Tb version of this for £89.99 from Argos, Currys/PC world and Amazon. This is a decent deal for the 500Gb version, however I did run out of space on my previous 500Gb quite easily.

I'd rather stump up the extra £15ish and get double the storage with one of the many £50-55 1tbsp drives that keep appearing on here.I've just received my 750gb transcend today that was only 3 quid more-though it's usb2.

I dont get it I have a laptop with USB 3.0 and a Seagate hard drive 3.0 but when I transfer a movie which is normally around 8gb the speed starts of high at 120mb/s for about 20 secs then drifts to an average of 25mb/s

I don't really need more than 500 GB so I'd rather buy this for 35 than spend extra on memory I probably won't use. Just depends how much you need.

I bought 1TB version of this last year. This is a good external HDD, but the main problem here which is also typical with other portable HDD. Because you remove the cable connection from the HDD often in my case every day as I use it at work and at home. After many times the connection between the HDD and USB cable (the small side) becomes loosen and then finally fail.

This is not only issue with external HDD from WD but general issue as I have the same issue with it Hitachi, Samsung, Seagate, and presumably other brands ...

Any idea good practice, suggestion on how to avoid this to extend the external HDD life?

Leave a short cable or adapter in the drive then use something else to connect to PC, lappie, whatever

It was previously posted on here, it was in Tesco, but the deal was spammed as i think only very few stores had the item and most people weren't finding it.

My girlfriend works in a Tesco store and picked one up for me.

I have been using a 1Tb Passport for the last 2 year and have had no problems at all, When it fails I will switch to a 3.0, but for now its perfect.

Could someone who knows please shed the light, what have I been missing here ?
This deal is 500 Gb USB 3.0 portable for £34.45 reaches 616 degrees.

Another deal here is 750GB USB 3.0 portable for £43.58 (this is equivalent to £32.68, if it was 500 GB) just reach 7 degrees.

Both are from well known manufacturer.

Is the specs are different or what ???
I have bought 750GB instead of 500gb is it is cheaper in term of £/GB but if I have made the wrong decision base on people recommendation here I will be using my statutory right and return it back.
