Decent price for a top external hard drive, 2 year warranty included too.

You can get it cheaper online by a two or three quid but if you need one today at least you can nip down to currys and pick one up like i did Better reviews than the hitachi available at Comet too.

So does it need to be connected to power too?

Yes it needs an AC adapter

Not quite on par with the recent Comet Iomega (Samsung) drive deal @ £40.49 but about average price for a 1TB.

This was £46.97 in amazon yesterday

now .. where did I put that time machine .......................

This hard drive is a piece of junk! I own one and the Mini USB is naff, the connection breaks down and you lose files. I had to take the HDD out of the casing and install it in a SATA enclosure, which has a proper USB 2.0 socket.

^ have bought and used around 40 of these and never had any issues, way better than the segate ones which i have had to return far too many of.

Hi, can someone tell me how they know this has a 2 year warranty? Mine has just died after little over a year which means it's out of warranty which is extremely annoying. Any help would be great.

You still have your statuatory rights even if it does turn out to be just out of warranty. Sale Of Goods Act - google it.
