Yes, it's a good price for a single drive
not bad for uk price, but 8tb externals can be had about £30 cheaper from amazon US, inc shipping and customs etc. more faff if there's a problem, plus longer wait time
this for your database fp?

How many Post-it Notes do you think it could hold?

Can this be used with smart TVs?
i'd suggest using this either as an internal drive or in a new enclosure as 8TB of data is a lot to lose if the WD enclosure fails. all data is encrypted automatically and cannot be recovered without the enclosure encryption chip

Absolutely. The ability to record is down to the TV itself.

I second this. It will come with at least 3 different mains plug adaptors including EU and UK.
Will all 8TB be recognised by a tv tho. I have a relatively new LG and it can't read hard drives formatted with GPT (GUID Partiton table) which you would need to use with this.

this is a trick question right? obviously depends on the things like the size of the notes, your handwriting size and any shorthand notations you are using

No, it has just been said (a few times in the last few weeks at Reddit.com) that I have a collection of Post-it Notes & I get very excited over them.

The person repeating those claims does seem to need psychological help though.

I don't need a 'database' to reach that conclusion.

likewise 2017 LG TV won't read a disk that size. better to use a network share / NAS etc when going over 4TB.

One of the two previous "Deals" threads I quoted in the thread description provides this information:

So shucked the driving which took about 5mins. Inside was a white label. WD80EZAZ. 5400 rpm, 256MB Cache.

Ran a few tests and have thrown it into a NAS and it fired up fine.

It actually works out as just under £160 from the US...
I used this video as guidance. Did not require any 3.3v mod mentioned elsewhere.
