you mean 6tb?
Personally I like the 4tb price £52.99
Is this one of those drives where you couldn't extract the drive because they're tied to the hardware?

Nope. You can extract the drive......it'll be a Blue 6TB 3.5" once you pull off the SATA-USB slip-on card.

You wouldn’t be able to extract data from the the drive once removed from the enclosure - if you had enabled encryption. But other than that it’s easy as pie to remove the drive.

There’re a lot of horror stories told about these recertified drives but i’ve bought a few & never had a problem. Just run a full sector test when you get it (using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics). Though it’s worth noting that dealing with digitalriver & returning one of these ain’t exactly easy.

Nope - unless connected to a PC/ MAC or router with a USB input. Look for a WD My Cloud if you want to stream music & movies to phones & tablets etc - but currently all oos in the recertified option.

Thanks I though I might connect it to my home hub usb and ntwork to it from that. A portable hard drive works like that.

Yes the the BT homehub has a USB input. You’d need to find out the limitations of it though - you might find it’s only compatible with drives of a certain size

So in theory I could put it in my ps4 or xbox? Not that I would need to because I can just plug the USB in

This is just an external hard drive so if you want to stream media from it you'll need something to share the files or act as a media server so, yes, if your Home Hub can do that then it should work.
As previously mentioned though, the MyCloud series of drives are NAS drives - they connect to your router via ethernet so you can access the files on them from any device, and they also include media server software (Twonky) for streaming audio and video files from them.

No, because it's a full size external drive (mains powered), not a portable drive (USB powered), so there will be a 3.5" hard drive inside it, which won't fit inside an Xbox One or PS4 as they take 2.5" drives. You will be able to use it externally of course, just bear in mind it will need external power.
Only 2tb left and yes it can be used as an ext USB hdd for the PS4
By the time the notifications arrive they're usually back out of stock. Been after a 4TB for some time; I've bought a brand new 4TB portable for backing up, so want a 4TB 3.5" internal to match the capacity instead.
Miss these every damn time. Need 4tb or 6tb
What is the different between this and my book “new certified”. I just only can see the different design.

Same internal WD blue drive, just a new design of the outer plastic. No speed difference. Cosmetic.
I got mine. Is slow backing up. I was hoping to connect to my router. But I have a sky Q router which does not have a USB port
