Just a word of warning since i bought this(4TB). one of the peg arrived broken wedge into case and even after removal, it stayed deformed. and the USB is bended as well. the Costumer service is a joke, just down right incompetent, and told me to RMA when i am not claiming warranty, and when they do take the time to reply after days, they just say contact other department. Cant be arsed to deal with them so i just took the HDD out of the case and use it as internal.

But still great price i guess. £50 cheaper than new

My first 4Tb drive was bad, failed the WD disk checks and kept turning itself off. Had to be RMA'd and the replacement is OK so far.

Heated, very good prices indeed. I have used them a number of times and all been fine, though to be fair never had to use their after sales service as the drives I got were fine and still working over a year later, somewhat dispelling the regular myth on here that recertified drives are substandard and more likely to fail. Not saying they can't fail but not necessarily any more likely than a massively more expensive new one....
Why is this going cold?
Need some extra storage and havent found much better for the price. I know they are recertified but wouldnt WD exchange or refund them if anything went wrong?

Thanks anyway OP - Heated for what its worth
COLD this is the usual bi-weekly post of used refurbs from Western Digital. Just waiting for the next 56 deals on their refurb site to be posted then all done for another fortnight.

CHEAP BECAUSE THEY BROKE ONCE ALREADY. They have so little confidence they give a very limited warranty because they have no confidence.

Do you know for a fact that these have been used and have been broken once already? Are you up to date on Western Digitals refurb policy?
If you're correct in what you say, these aren't a good deal for people, but if you're jumping to conclusions, you might be putting people off a really decent deal.

As the store is run by digital river with no service skills make a complaint direct to WD on wdsupport@wdc.com some one from western digital called me and gave me a very favorable resolution , had to make a 2nd complaint as well this time because i realized they ( DR store) had overcharged me, same person i spoke to before called and promised it had been escalated and i even got a full refund,
i would make a complaint to paypal too , they have a special case officer assigned to digital river WD store , I was told because they have too many complaints from customers.
WD My Book (New) 6Tb drive" delivered today. USB socket on the drive is "fooked". Spent 10 minutes getting nowhere with "WD Store Customer Service". They gave me another number to call which is unobtainable.

Why did I not take my own advice on buying "recertified"?!

Not sure who "recertified" the one they sent me but you couldn't get the USB cable connected because of a fault with the USB socket.

Weird! Anyway, still awaiting resolution. The worst customer service I've ever experienced by a mile.
Finally sent me a UPS prepaid label. I've either got to drive to somewhere to drop it off or book a day (!) for them to collect. I'll just be glad to get my £99.99 back!
