These are re-certified stock (which I personally wouldn't touch with a 10 metre barge pole).

I've bought the 2TB version which was recertified . It's very handy and hasn't failed me. You are taking a risk as you do only get a 6 month warranty but it's actually just as risky as buying any HDD just that you have less of a warranty.

Personally though, if I had the money, I would make my own NAS and buy drives that have 3-5 years of warranty.

For the price I paid (£62) I can't grumble.

Worth a look in Tesco. They currently sell them for £72.50. Got one in Dundee Riverside on Friday, and somebody else got one on Friday in a post yesterday.

Think they have a 2 year warranty from we too. I would look, but I've put the box in the attic.

My previous version lasted 5 years and was fine when I unplugged it yesterday.
