Supports up to 4 x 1080p Video/ Audio trans-coding via Hardware accelerated trans-coding. It really works! Price includes delivery to UK.

In the box is both UK and EU adapters (unboxing video on Youtube checked). First NAS to support video and audio hardware trans-coding at the time of launch. Plex forum states will run transcodes at 1080p. This unit is £389 on Amazon UK. My dispatch time is around a month, so a little bit of time to wait.

Ouch
Wayyyyyy overpriced if it’s empty, but if you value simplicity over price then go for it.

Depends on usage. As a Plex server, this is hard value to beat.

You can build something cheaper, but again, dependent on if you want to go down that route.
To much for what it actually does.

Put a 8tb hdd inside a pc set that as your server
Simplicity, low power consumption, nas and decent plex in one unit... sounds great.
I prefer the flexibility of a separate NAS and plex server computer, but considering the cost of both if you don't need the extra features this is good value.

Would be nice to see evidence as I am currently looking into my options for a plex server and from what I have seen in terms of requirements for 4 streams at 1080p its a chunk more of change than this nas
Hmm. On the fence with this one. A bit pricey for what you get tbh.only 2 bays too. Still rather a have a HP microserver at half the price which is upgradable in terms of cpu, gpu, ram and more HDD slots etc..

I could do with something online if anyone knows of a decent rental. after a managed account with a few streams.

This one does hardware transcoding unlike most nas where it's software and processor intensive. This unit can to my surprise do 4 1080p audio and video transcodes despite its processor because of this. You'd be forgiven for thinking all nas could do this but they can't. More powerful and expensive nas can't do as many streams. I can only assume this went cold due to a lack of understanding as to this devices value.

Exactly i know enough out plex and so on and the fact this can transcode 4 at a time at 1080p is pretty impressive for the form factor / cost. I was looking at a Ts150 however the cost of an xeon upgrade drags the price up pretty high granted I would be able to run some vms off it also
