Good luck returning it if it's a faulty/fake. Not worth the risk imo. (edited)

The product listing has 4000+ orders with an overall 4.9 star rating from 400+ reviews and multiple of which have images of the SSD and performance benchmark screenshots as well.

Seller overall has 97.2% rating. Even if you look at the 1 star ratings for the seller they are mainly irrelevant, as they are due to user errors or delay in delivery.

I wouldn’t have posted if I hadn’t done my research beforehand. (edited)

I think you need to add £3 over the SSD to be able to use that coupon(not sure if the coupon is still valid). You can try “5POUCH45”(works without £3 additional items) or “ANUP3”. Both are lesser value than the initial coupon.

Is delivery 4-6 weeks from Aliexpress?
Looks like the code has expired - still a crazy price though.

It really depends on the seller. Many have a 15 day guarantee these days (this one does). Sometimes it's much faster - I recently had something arrive in a week, which was a surprise. Otherwise it's more like 3-4 weeks I'd say - it's rare I've had something that's taken as long as 6 weeks.

Arrived and have you scanned it if confirmed legit drive? Thanks (edited)

Dunno if i would trust a purchase this expensive from ali-express. No warranty on it and if it doesn't work and you need to send back will cost you almost the price of the nvme. I buy a lot from AE but not sure I trust something like this. Especially with the fake micro sds and GPUs coming from there.

Be aware there is no warranty on this as it’s only local.

This is a great price, I bought mine direct for £50. I wouldn't worry about buying used or fake.
It would cost more than this drive for them to fake the spec of this drive.
So if you can check the drive with Crystaldiskinfo you'll be able to crosscheck all drive info to ensure it isn't a fake or used.
The screenshot below shows info for an SN740 1TB drive. Note that you can check the drive model, firmware, serial and then cross check these with what's printed on the drive label.
You can also check the the amount of data written and the power on and count and hours, to ensure it's brand new.
Another check would be to run CrystaldiskMark to check the speed is close to that stated on the spec sheet.
These drives only came out recently anyway and the manufacture date on the one I received is the end of Jan 2023.

I got an SD in mine and haven't noticed any difference between that and the NVMe..... I wanna know what Valve is doing behind the scenes as that isn't the case on my main PC or Mac, the SD cards are always so much slower.

Though maybe because the device is really underpowered, it probably doesn't matter too much for speed, the bottleneck is elsewhere?
    FireOnAWire's avatar
I reckon you're right in saying the bottleneck is elsewhere.
Maybe because the APU is so low wattage and slower compared to desktop CPU's level of processing power.
Perhaps driving a comparatively low resolution/low detail levels means loading high res textures isn't necessary 🤷🏻‍♂️

If only I'd held off from buying the used 512GB Kioxia BG4 on eBay for £44 before all these deals started popping up.
    777jrg_'s avatar
That's still a great deal lol

Getting "This code can't be used in combination with other offers." Already added the screen protector for £3.11. What have I done wrong?

I think all voucher are used up. Try this: 5POUCH45. It will be slightly higher price and do not need to add the screen protector for the code to work.
  18. Heed20's avatar
Thanks, I've gone for the 1TB drive. I bought a 64GB deck and upgraded to 240GB but could do with a bit more storage as I've 'only' got a 512GB Micro SD installed.

Replied said there might be compatibility issue with surface pro 8, so be careful.

Excelllent price. Chucking it in my new Steam Deck.

    Don't forget 5.5% Quidco!
    xxxman123's avatar
You can't get that if using the AliExpress app, and I have found you actually get better prices using the app as you get extra discounts from coupons.
  23. supermann's avatar
Don't forget VAT and possible Royal Mail processing charge. That said, it's so small, it'll prob get through.
    AamirQuazi's avatar
Tax is added by aliexpress now…. This price looks to be including tax.
  24. RyanPlugs's avatar
Just bought a 512gb of the same model for £50 so this is a hell of a bargain if you can wait for the delivery times.

Nice to see the price coming down my Lenovo idea pad needs a small second ssd really annoying they are double the price of a standard size thanks
  26. iby2012's avatar
Guess there is no adapted for the series x or s at the moment right?
    reddragon105's avatar
There is but it only works with one specific drive, which isn't this one, and by the time you've paid for the adapter and that drive it will have cost you about the same as an official expansion.
  27. ken218's avatar
flipping back and forth trying to decide if I want to buy this one, and got to the point where the system says "Sorry, all codes have now been claimed." damn it

    Same here :-(

Wow, this is such a great price. HEAT
    I'm gutted I paid £100 from elsewhere.
But, like a few have mentioned, I a not so confident about buying such items from Alibaba.
Are they based in the UK now or something? I wasn't even sure we were allowed to post Alibaba deals.
Personally as long as it's a good deal, it's a good deal. (edited)
