ALL DEALS LISTED BELOW ARE RECERTIFIED

Hopefully they won't all be out of stock by the time I get this submitted!

So I've bought the EX2100 8TB version @ £159.99

They also have;
EX2100 4TB version @ £104.99
EX2100 base unit @ £78.75

MY CLOUD EX2 ULTRA
Base unit only @ £65.25

MY CLOUD EX2
Base unit only @ £54.00

MY CLOUD EX4
Base unit only @ £103.50

MY CLOUD EX4100
Base unit only @ £121.50

There might be some standalone hard drives availbable but I've been mainly looking at NAS storage (in fact MY BOOK 2TB only @ £35.92 is available too).

4TB version looks to be available still? (about to correct typo in the description!)
Amazing prices for the select few that manage to bag them. Heat

Yep....it's anyone's guess as to how much stock they hold but hopefully someone bags a deal. I check about 3-4 times a day so if anyone misses out just keep checking :-)

same here :'(
All done Thank you
Either there wasn't a lot of stock or loads of people watching these and jumped on it straight away. 40mins and all gone only base units with no hard drives left.
Just need some cheap drives now
Even driveless is sold out now.
What is the difference between models? I noticed some are 2 bay others 4 bay but the description doesnt say much.
These are returns so I assume that they get 1/2/3 units back every few days and then add them into stock once they've been checked and refurbed. There is no stock count on the site so no way to know how many there are.
EX4 0TB still available at £103.50, then just keep an eye out for 4, 5 or 6TB lower spec recert My Cloud units and pull the WD Red drives out each time to add to the EX4.

The description was short so that I could get the deal up before they all sold. I'm not an expert in all honesty so couldn't provide much in the way of specifics but my understanding is that EX**** are newer/better versions of EX* models and in the case of the EX2 models, the Ultra is superior and allows for faster transfer speeds. The EX4100 also has a faster processor and more ram than the EX2100 as well as more bay obviously.

I could be wrong though.

2 bays more likely allow one big volume with raid zero e.g no fault tolerance or data mirrored across 2 drives meaning you can lose 1 disk and have no data loss .4 bays data will probably be data striped across all 4 disks, meaning you can have upto 2 failed disks before data loss. Different speeds depending on raid configuration too but for most people they wont notice the difference
My main issue is this is always on and no Antivirus nor protection is available for it. Makes me wonder if the router gets...
To anyone who managed to bag a My Cloud recently I'd advise running the full test which rigourously surface scans all internal drives. It takes ages (a good couple of days) but is worth it as it has flagged failing drives for me which seemed fine before the test. Be sure to turn off as many of the My Cloud server options as you can as some of them can make the full test last (at a guess) TEN TIMES as long!
Great deal, heat added, all out of stock now though, except for the EX2 base unit....

Pity I missed out, keep checking the site but it's an absolute pain. I keep missing out. I wish they would put in a search for "in stock" items only.

Looks like the EX4 has a faster processor than both the EX4100 and EX2100, but less RAM, so I'm guessing the EX4 may be the better choice if it is only for one user (e.g. faster Plex transcoding maybe?) and the two EX4100 and EX2100 better for more users and more server protocols etc?

Can anyone confirm?

I don't believe any of the EX series support hardware transcoding on Plex
Thanks for the tip. Manage to get 2 TB external portable Thunderbolt HD. Bargain.

The EX4 has 1/4 of the RAM of the 4100 - it's also has an older processor (with a higher quoted Mhz rating), but the Mhz rating of a processor doesn't tell everything.

Comparison is here: Product specs

Only direct head to head comparison I could find related to disk read/write speeds:
WD EX4 Read speeds (MBps) large files 89
WD EX4 Read speeds (MBps) small files 21
WD EX4 Write speeds (MBps) large files 41.2
WD EX4 Write speeds (MBps) small files 15.6

WD EX4100 Read speeds (MBps) unspecified file size 110
WD EX4100 Write speeds (MBps) unspecified file size 106

EX2100 definitely does, not particularly fast but it is there.
Thanks, that makes sense.

Managed to get an EX4, rushed my order a bit to get it but not sure whether to keep it. Have 4 x 2TB drives laying around and am all out of storage on my current current 3tb NAS. Do want to run plex from it, would be played on amazon tv so not sure about transcoding. Reviews seems mixed, does seem a good price for a simple NAS, but some people saying it constantly failing and dies early.

Give it a go, it's not like you won't be able to get your money back selling it as used, especially with a couple of WD Reds inside. The interface has a 'restore to default' button for if you sell it on. But run full disk test (with as many network services etc turned off as possible) to flag up any drive problems which are usually the things that fail.
I bought one of these and it failed just outside warranty. For refurbished WD I recommend very cheap stuff only - 20 or 30 quid down the drain is not the end of the world. Stay away from the more expensive (ie larger) drives.
All gone.

EX4100 and EX2100 Do. EX4 just got dropped from support for plex
Surprised some of you guys managed to buy an EX4 as I'm registered to get stock alerts for the EX4s and didn't receive any emails about them. Checked my spam and promotion folders and can't see anything there.

I've signed up before as well and never received an alert. I think it says something about expiring after 120 days but I signed up yesterday for pretty much everything and didn't receive any alerts today.

So basically don't trust their stock alerts.
I bought one but decided to cancel my order. Should be back in stock soon...
Yeah no stock alert but got one because of the alerts here :-)

Damn, I'll have to keep my eye on the 8tb EX2100.

I've had a re certified 4TB MyCloud EX2 Ultra for about a year and a half now, really is a great little NAS with limited setup and maintenance and hasn't died on me yet.
