Perhaps lIkely high chance of Amazon not fulfilling
Edited by: "mgk" 6th Jan
P.s. just to points it's a hd drive, not a NAS drive
wd reds are Nas drives m8,

all over the image label btw
Normal reds are for 1-4 Bay nas, red pro are designed for up to 16 Bay nas, and have twice the cache
Excellent price, one on order!
Good price. From a little googling these look like the older model red pros that have been discontinued for a while.

Could just mean it's a listing that still has the price from when it was discontinued and became unavailable.
7200rpm for home nas stuff is probably going to end up with hotter/noisier setups than most people want, great price and very good 5 year warranty though!

In my experience (3TB Green and 6TB Red) there is no difference between them in terms of temperature and noise. I also have 2 Toshiba 6TBs and they really DO run hotter. I now run 120mm fans over my drives, and all the drive are the same temperature to the touch. Without fan, the Toshiba were uncomfortable to pick up after they'd been running for awhile. I used a (sock to pick them up). Putting my fingers on my 6TB red just now (fans off) it is at body temperature - it feels neither hot nor cold
everything suggests these are the pro's. They are £160 drives.....
I've been waiting for a deal to build my new media server, ordered 8.

I think these were discontinued in 2015/2016, the listing is probably an error but ordered 1 just incase. Never know may send the newer version of the red pro!
Great price if honoured by Amazon and if they are the current model (WD4002FFWX). The details specify it is the newer model but the picture suggests the discontinued model (WD4001FFWX).
Finally gone for two! Plus £4.75 postage without prime!
Cold its amazon, probably a recert, or cant register or if it breaks in a few months you dont get a refund or new drive but yep you guessed it a recert. I spend a lot at amazon but never a penny on HDs with them too many bad experiences
I'm assuming labelling them "NAS" is just because they're designed & intended to run 24/7?
Would these be okay in a normal desktop to store games? Need an upgrade from my current 2TB Seagate barracuda

You're right.
I've been using a few of these in a normal desktop and they have always been reliable. They might be overkill for storing games but its a good price for a quality product.

Page says model is WD4002FFWX

The Amazon product page has a few contradictions (such as the model number) but also the cache size - the product title reads 128MB but the details further down reads 64MB (so too the picture), so it is a bit of pot luck as to whether the orders get fulfilled and what models turn up. I ordered a couple last night, so fingers crossed. Worst case scenario I'll return them.
Anyone had any progress with their order or are we all awaiting stock?

Nope. Still waiting.
Still waiting too
The price has finally risen to £163 meaning they realized their mistake. I get the feeling they are going to just drag this out for 3 months then tell me they couldnt find stock (this is waht they did with a makita battery order I placed)
They do have this exact model in stock here:

WD4002FFWX

Not looking good!
no longer available on the page - stand by for the cancellations!

Now back out of stock but £159, That actually looks better!
got disptach email on my 2
Still waiting. But sounds promising
had a despatch email too, coming Thurs see what we get
Just double checked, mine dispatched too.

Not sure mine is suitable for my NAS as I'm quite noise sensitive. This link is v good comparison of drives, compares 18 models inc this one. what worries me is it's louder than the 4tb ironwolf which was horribly loud. us.hardware.info/rev…els
Got my dispatched email a couple of hours ago, ordered 2 as didn't want to be greedy.
