Cheapest its been on amazon. Slightly cheaper than Dabs, although you may prefer them as Amazon have a bad rep for "immorally" limiting their UK Tax liabilities.

Or Rikomagic ....

Looks good, I'd go for this over a Raspberry Pi .... However I have a Rikomagic on order, for just over half the price. I may still go for one of these in a couple of months if I don't like the MK802III
Good price for something that should just work out of the box for those not too techy.

This is a great little media streamer. Works well, only negative is no lovefilm and looks like it will never get lovefilm but it does have netflix and lets you change the dns settings. If you use a service like unblockus you can toggle between netflix uk, usa and canada

JUST ORDERED MINE.

I've got one and as good as they are the system is pretty buggy for something from a big name like WD. Each update brings with it a few new little issues, while fixing a few of the old ones. If you have the money for a more premium item, or the time to go down the road of a Pi I'd probably do that.

We have version 1 and a version 2 and they are both excellent, very good price

currently watch Netflix through our Wii console, however find its wifi connection to be a bit flakey. I also use unblock us.

Apart from having HD, would this player offer any improvements over the wii?

need a way of getting disney junior other than subscribing to sky/virgin or talk talk , skys expensive and rubbish , and not got cable where i live , only thing stopping me canceling sky is kids will miss disney , can i stream disney from anywhere with this, i would pay just for disney

Not with this no. You need something that can run XBMC and then use one of the plugin that streams live channels.. (these aren't legal btw)

Where have you ordered a Rikomagic from for 30 quid?

Great deal, had one of these for just over a year great player. Wonder if/when the next generation will be released. Can't see how they can improve much on this features wise.

mty is not shouting; merely typing in capital letters. You're the one that's just read it shouting inside your own head.....STOP SHOUTING!!

Need eurosport without sky or cable?

Do these allow you to stream files stored on your windows 7 pc hard drive.

Great deal but think I'll opt for the Rasberry Pi as I can load XBMC and use Airplay with my Macbook And it's cheaper...

I have the AC. Ryan @ the moment. UI kinda sucks!

Is this worth the upgrade? Can this display moviesheets/TV sheets direct from the player rather then having to use thumbjen first?

I wouldn't - I have one of these and it doesn't keep track of what you've watched and more importantly it keeps forgetting where its media is, in short its flaky and have ordered a Pi to replace it.

Have 3 of these networked, great smp for the price.

Sorry to be dense, but I currently have my laptop hooked up to to tv and amp to watch iplayer etc. Can this do all the catchup websites?

Nope, just bbc iplayer

Have they worked out how to get Netflix on Raspberry Pi yet? It wasn't considered possible because there is no Silverlight on Linux. This is a great device for the price. Plays all our video files and the quality of HD picture on iplayer and Netflix is superb.

I'd rate this 4/5. It plays literally any files without a glitch. However the interface is sluggish and buggy as hell. It often makes it frustrating to use.

I only use it for streaming Netflix, iPlayer and playing torrents off external HD -- it'll stream these to any device too, like tablets, laptops, smartphone etc

Nice bit of kit, but looking to buy a ps3 instead so I'm selling my 2-month old one if anyone's interested? £40. London.

It is under Services>Featured or Movies and TV.

I want to buy this but WD have so many versions I am worried they will release one soon and stop updating this one

Agree. Does make me frustrated especially when loses HDD connection or stops responding.

They are still supporting gen 2, so good so far, they have added extra features, all my other media players play all the popular formats, without a firmware upgrade of over two years, so unless major file types change, i wouldn't worry about it,,

Great device, I bought one initially for my Dad for Christmas but then I bought one for myself as it was perfect for what I needed. I'm contacting Amazon now to try and get a refund of the difference that I paid.

I have one connected wireless to my my nas drive works great streaming blue rays and 3d had it over a year and no issues plays everything without loading any software. Will be buying 2 ras pi s and loading xbmc for the kids bedroom as their playstations won't play everything.

This site's search function is a big bag of monkey balls.

Just posted this deal after searching and couldn't find it.

Voted hot.

It's been ok for me, had mine just over 2 weeks now and played everything i have thrown at it, only downside so far is duplicate files coming up all the time, but i'll look into it sooner or later.

All1

Now that a boxee is £100 it's hard to see why someone would choose this instead

The media scraper is cack on this device, you have to manually edit all the titles of your films and manually scan one by one. Takes time to get your library set up just nice. I had issues streaming from the NAS over wifi so went for a wired connection. So far, no issues. UI is a little slugglish, and there can be a little delay between button presses. Also Netflix takes an age to boot up compared to my PS3.
