It only becomes an issue if the temperature is consistently less than 15 degrees in the room. Most people's houses won't have an issue with this and the compressor ones are generally cheaper to run.
I have this, it's great. Ignore the people that say you should buy a dessicant instead. I have had both.We don't live in iceland, so this one will work fine.

Only on off switch. Better to have one which will self regulate. Just my opinion!
Good to have a mechanical switch thou as at least you can put it on a timer. Bought a B&Q one with a electronic on off swaitch and I can't use a timer.

I don't have central heating so electric radiators are only on when I am there. This runs pretty much all the time and does a fantastic job, also dries the washing out very quickly.

Totally agree.
I have been using this for the last 2 years and it does a brilliant job. I do have another well branded one Which does same job. Go for it if you are looking for one.

I have one of these - it has a humidistat so will regulate the humidity down to what is set. The only downside I've had is the drain getting blocked internally and on two occasions dumping the water on my ensuite floor instead of the collecting tub.

What I don't get is that you get suspended for copy pasting comments and the day your suspension is lifted you get straight back to it

.Why Sam?

You do realise why you get suspended nearly every week don't you?

and why spread misinformation. Have you got a dessicant fridge because compressor types don't work in your freezing cold house full of top tech?

Negative . Buy Dessicant Dehumidifier. Compressor Dehumidfiers dont work in low temperature/winter , even after the manufacturer saying otherwise. Tested several

Very poor quality compressor humidifier. I got one last from them in sale but very poor efficiency . If the place is not heated to room temperature, it would not work . And even then very poor efficiency.

Buy dessicant dehumidifier if house not heated 24/7. Compressor ones fail at low temperature so unsuitable for UK winter.
