Bought this about 3 years back. Good quality, however is as big as a travel cabin bag and pretty heavy , therefore think for storage space.
Fantastic dehumidifier. At this price it is a steal.
Apart from its looks, mine has been far better than the previous Ebacs, and a couple of other well known manufacturers of dehumidifiers.
I have been using this for over 5 years now.. Solid product and reliable
Another 1+ here. I have had one of these plumbed into a drain and chugging away in my garage for the last 3 yrs. Does a great job.
How much does this cost to operate ?

Depending on the way the wind is blowing, they will purr, rumble or rattle. Often repositioning them slightly will sort out any rattling.

One thing to note, you need to clear out the filters every couple of days for efficient running. If they get blocked, they will suck in dirt and fluff on to the heat exchanger radiators. Once these get fluff on them, the efficiency goes down as well as you end up growing mould.

If you have a wife who uses excessive amounts of hairspray in the same room as one of these you're doomed as everything sticks to the heat exchanger.

When the heat exchangers get really blocked, things start icing up and the drainage holes get blocked leading to leaks from the bottom instead of it draining in to the collection tub.

Apart from that, these are great little bits of kit.
Is this a dessicant or condenser unit?

We had a few of the older wooden bodies Ebacs. The joints dried out and they fell apart. Can't understand why a dehumidifiers joints would dry out ......... oh hang on !!

Going of the weight be heavy it must be condenser , I have a desiccant and it’s annoying how much heat it produces
Father in law has one of these, works like a charm, consdering getting one. Cheers
Fantastic deal ... bought this for 100 quid in March. Does the job really well.
Bargain!
I have Desiccant and Compressor and would always pay more for the Desiccant, they just take so much more moisture out of the air in any tempreture.
Almost broke my keyboard, thinking it was an Air Conditioner by the photo.

Thanks.
Dam we was just talking about these Sunday when they where £99.99 as brother in law has one. Dad and him wanted another and I thought why not found a seller on eBay selling them £59.99 or make offer for unboxed ex display units made offer they agreed on £47.50 each for 3 delivered, hopefully no issues.
Anything less than £100 for a proper dehumidifier is a great price

For £100 not bad either
does this blow out cold air or is it very different from air conditioner?

Totally different. In fact this will blow out warmer air than it sucks in while operating.

This removes moisture from the air, it doesn't cool it like an air conditioner does.

Exactly this I picked some up from ebay ex display models for £47.50 working great so far but have found the landing feels warmer from the air it blows out. Should be a winner in winter help keep heating bill down lol

I have one in our ensuite. It warms the room as it dehumidifies which helps the water evaporate from the walls / towels etc and then sucks more moisture out of the air. At the moment though, my ensuite reached 32 degrees C at 5:30am today while I was having my morning shower ...... swings and roundabouts.
Thanks for the help guys! Really appreciate it. I live in a new build flat is insulated to the max too much in fact. Any recommendations for stand alone air conditioners?
Edited by: "jamieleewilliams3992" 25th Jun
Standalone air conditioners tend to suck in hot air from outside as well as cooling the air inside the room so aren't as efficient as the split type - well worth considering getting a "proper" one installed as they also warm in the winter and are quite economical (you can get 3-4kW of heat out for every 1kW of electricity used depending on the outside temperature).

If I was to buy another portable air conditioner again (I have two here) I would go for a dual / twin hose system so it doesn't try and suck in air from outside the room. They are more expensive but far more efficient.
Is this a 12litre or a 4litre? It doesnt make sense it states 12litre but the tank is 4litres?

It’s able to extract 12 litres a day max, the tank is 4 litres.
It can extracts 12 litres a day the tank is 4 litres. If you have the ability to drain it another way you can attach a pipe for continuous drainage.
