If you are after a premium gas bbq then this might be worth considering. It’s the cheapest I could find of a Weber that features a side burner and searing section (usually found on the genesis ranger at over £1200)

The searing station is used to give even more heat to your steaks

Next similar model with 3 burners and side burner is on John Lewis for 649, it’s the newer model but completely open with no cupboard, which aesthetically the cupboard might be your thing and doesn’t have the searing section.

The online Costco membership is £15 to purchase if you don’t already have one

This looks decent for a premium barbie but hard to get better than a charbroil infrared one and it’s cheaper than this too.

At this rate all you need is a 2 burner this year!

This is a great price, but isn't Hayes closed to the public ? , or am I missing something ? Genuinely interested my friend.
I have the older E320, and I agree that the cupboard is both pleasing and useful. These are great barbecues, 10 hour pulled pork is easy (for instance), they are easy to control and very sturdy. This is a great price, have some heat - but not too much if you're cooking for 10 hours!

Do Costco price match themselves i ordered online for the £599?
BTW great bbq and sear station is wicked. Very easy to clean too
Bought this in store for £550 about a month ago. Great bbq, sear station works a treat on steaks. Heat from me.

You get what you pay for.

Sadly not, they can be cheaper in store because online they factor in things like shipping costs, also you have to have a full membership to shop in store, so probably to encourage that too !

It was open last week
My problem with weber is I think they may have had their day. Used to be fantastic, yes expensive but worth every penny if you wanted a quality product. My concern is that like everyone else, weber is cutting corners to maintain profit margins. I'm sure these new bbqs do not have the same cooking height. Can you fit a beer can chicken? Looking at them I don't think so but don't have a new model so can't be certain.

I guess that depends on many definitions, the spirit has been around for many years now. The cooking area height is 45cm, depending on the size of the chicken you probably could ram a can up there and have enough room to cook it

Thanks. I could be wrong but it seems new models of the old bbqs are getting shallower. It would be interesting to get a comparison. I can't find the info online

I guess if you want the extra size in a Weber the Genesis is the one to go for, but they are megabucks. Potentially what the older ones compare to or a blend between Spirit and Genesis. The main thing with the one above is to get the searing station normally you'd need a Genesis and spend over 1200.

The genesis definitely looks lower than they used to be. My point is that weber seem to be cutting corners which is something they never seemed to do in the past. Don't get me wrong, they are still excellent bbqs but I don't know if they can fully justify the excessive costs anymore.

I paid £551 in store at Costco Haydock last week. Brilliant barbecue. It was a pleasure to assemble with everything fitting together properly and easily. Definitely get what you pay for. Top quality.
Have you seen the Nexgrill bbqs Costco have? Look good. £399 for same setup

I have a Genesis I bought last year. Never struggled to fit anything in. Did my garlic and Rosemary leg of lamb in it yesterday as well and beercan chickens are no problem, even large ones.

Look much thinner steel than weber.

Thanks. Was that vertical or at an angle? They're obviously deceptively bigger than they look do might be worth a punt. Any idea if you use the weber gourmet beer can chicken do you get an extra inch or 2?

Vertical as far as possible. I either use one of the holders or a stout can on a small baking tray.

Brill. Thank you. Will measure my Ducane and compare.
Mine is 13. I wonder if anyone with an older weber can also measure. Would be nice to do a comparison.

How much thinner is the steel, take into account one is stainless steel, have you seen these in the flesh then?
You’ll find the frame of a Weber will be powder coated mild steel. Have the Spirit 3 burner and has lasted around 7 years with a cover on it.

I've seen the nexgrill in costco. Lids look solid but the sides feel very tiny. I can't remember the grades but the US built bbqs tended to have higher grade. Weber now make most of theirs in China using an inferior steel but still better than most. Not sure on the grade in nexgrills but definitely thinner
Nice looking bbq that Nexgrill. End of the day the 10 yr warranty on the cookhouse on the Weber and some reviews put me off a nexgrill.

The other thing is: standing their, with my meat, I’d just still want a Weber if it was something else in front of me

Yes they are lower than before they dropped the height when the went from USA made to China made, I believe so they could ship more units if the size was smaller.

So they reduced the hood.

It’s a shame they went from a long term, always American built bbq to just becoming another China manufacturer.

The USA built ones are very solid, the China ones not so much.

I wouldn’t pay a premium now for Weber, they most likely come off the same production line as Outback etc.
I've looked at the spirits and they aren't the best quality for the price. Been looking for a Genesis II for a couple of years now, they rarely go on offer.

I've also been looking at napoleon but unless you go big money for a Canadian built model you again end up with something from China. I guess it's just the the way of the world these days...
Stop looking and just buy something, they’re only going to be more made in China

This is a very competitive price. The Spirit E-330 GBS Premium is better built than the Spirit II, like the E-320. Even if you don't need the sear station, it's still worth getting the E-330 of a Spirit II. The hood is higher and you get a closed cabinet. Yes, the new Spirit II have the GS4 system, but this is only marginally improved over the older Spirit system. The end result in terms of food quality will be very similar, but the E-330 Premium is just the nicer model. Weber probably made the Spirit II series a bit simpler to make the difference to the Genesis larger (but you can pick up the Spirit II E-320 for £540 including a premium Weber Cover from bbqworld.co.uk/m/w…asp)

Note that this is most likely the "old" E-330 Premium. The new model has the removable grate section not centred, but over the sear section and the sear button is bright red. But this is not listed on Weber UK, but on Weber Germany and Austria (weber.com/DE/…tml).
