Agreed. CRACKING deal. Sorely tempted.

EDIT: Does anyone know where this fits in the overall range? Very limited info on the various comparison discussions out there.
Particularly, is this "better" than the Original Kettle on the same website, here:

I'm thinking that the GBS grate is probably more valuable/useful than the charcoal rails with the one I've linked to. Opnions welcome, though.
good deal. heat added

Towards the bottom of the range. Frequently on sale at about this price. Main miss for me would be the lack of thermometer in the lid.

Gbs grates are good but factor in buying the actual attachments! They are expensive and you often get one thrown in with kettles higher up the range.

Still a decent bbq (often doesn't come with the gbs grates) but price is not as stellar as first seems.

Nice for summer
Thnx OP, ordered, cheap enough for me
Does it have the one touch system? On the BBQworld site says it has, but can't see that on Weber's own site

This doesn't have the one touch cleaning system or vents. Not sure if it has the thermometer on the lid. The general rule (price and features) is Compact, Kettle, One Touch then Mastertouch in that order.

Edit...the image posted doesn't have the one touch cleaning system.

Wow thanks been after a decent bbq....roll on the summer
I've still got my Weber Master Touch Red in box. Don't think I'll ever use it still... A bargain at 169 I paid. Hahah.
I think charcoal makes a bigger difference

Big K have professional/restaurant grade charcoal that burns with no smoke, 3+ hour burn time and high heat (Dura). No spitting with the Flama charcoal

Weber's premium range only burns for 90 minutes

Check out the pro range

But if you never use it isn't that the same as saying I bought a cardboard box for £170? The weather is nice today. Get out and cook some sausages
As a complete newbie in the world of barbecue-ing...

1) is this really that good of a deal?
2) charcoal vs gas?
3) how long would something like this take to setup and get going to cook a few burgers on any given day?

Thanks in advance for any help!

What does the one touch system do?
...so what can be covered by 10 years of warranty on BBQ, surely not kettle burn off, asking for a friend

Bowl & lid - 10 years, no rust through/burn through
One-touch cleaning system - 5 years, no rust through/burn through
Plastic components - 5 years, excluding fading or discolouration
All remaining parts - 2 years
Definitely need to make some tandoori charcoal chicken on here! I'm gonna get it as entry level this would be cracking!!

There is a handle under the bbq which opens and closes the vents to control temp. As the vents are on the inside and shaped like blades they also scrap the inside of the bowl pushing all the ash down through the vent holes in order to clean.

Not really as people buy Weber all the time and an old one in a box of a certain colour will always hold its value.

Weber's are overkill for normal burgers and sausage. Yes they will do that but the whole idea is the lid is air tight and you leave it on to cook the food like an over but with the bbq from the coals. Grilling basic food is fine but any bbq can do that.

I found this video useful to explain the GBS thing which i had no idea about until this post. Thanks for posting this deal, I've ordered one

Haha, it is indeed! One giant heavy box. Stowed away in the shed for now. I really need to clear space in there as atm, once this BBQ is assembled i'd have no space for it

1 - yes
2 - charcoal
3 - 30 mins

Best thing u ever bought to go with a charcoal bbq us a chimney starter. Takes out all the hassle of getting it going

Correct but doesn't get all the ash out. Always some left that needs brushing down into the pot underneath. Good feature though. Love my Weber so much and can't wait for some good weather so I can use it again
I've had one of these for 8 years still going strong it's the basic model though they are giving you an updated grill, pity it doesn't have the one touch system of the GBS which makes ash removal a doddle and temp control easier, the vents on this aren't easy to adjust especially when cooking
Super grill
Thanks OP. Ordered after seeing the state the weather has left my cheap smoker in despite it being covered. Roll on the hot weather!

2) horses for courses. If you want something quick and easy, gas. You can be up and running in 10 minutes and finished by the time the charcoal ones are about ready to start grilling. Charcoal brings out the inner caveman playing with fire and is better for slower coking imo. Even with a chimney starter you might want to warn neighbours if they have washing out when starting charcoal although lumpwood smokes less than briquettes.

The taste debate between the 2 (ignoring electric) goes on and on. My gas BBQ has old style volcanic rocks which I think is better than the metal type flavour plates (or whatever they're called) on most gas BBQs nowadays. On balance is say charcoal grilling probably tastes better, but not so much to sway you away from gas.
I think this is one of the inferior versions of the Weber and it’s been £95 on bnq for a while so I’ll hold out and wait for a better deal I think.

Thanks. Will do some more research but from the sounds of it so far I may be better off just waiting for a gas one to come on offer. I plan to use it here and there on a hot weekend for basic burger and sausages so this sounds like it may be overkill.
I'm getting £85.49 at checkout. No biggie, just a heads-up.

Basic burger and sausages are great on a Weber , bank coals to one side , sear the outside of your burgers and sausages over the coals then move to non coal side and put the lid on to cook the inside of them oven style , amazing shake some old bay seasoning onto them before cooking, yum.
Just got the call. out of stock. apparently I just missed it FYI to any new buyers.
