Bought mine on Sunday from Go Outdoors in Warrington using their price match which gets you an extra 10% off the competitors price.

You need to be a discount card holder at go outdoors (cost me £5 at the same time).

They matched and discounted against keengardener.go.uk currently selling at £96 when I was instore at the checkout.

Their non-cardholder price is around £140, the cardholder discount price is £99.99, I got over £13 off that.

The same BBQs second-hand on eBay usual go for around £75 so seemed a good deal to me for brand new with full warranty.

Presumably you need to take a gas canister with this too?

Yes. en417 screw type propane/butane mix. don't have to get Weber brand though. on maximum setting you should get a shade over 3hrs cooking time on a 500g cylinder (it consumes 153g/hr on full heat). you can bulk buy the cylinders 6 for £20. I'm using Coleman c500's.

Would the Colemans work on Weber Q bbqs?

Original Poster

if the Q takes the Weber screw cartridges at present then yes.

I've got a Weber q but the older 2000 model which they wouldn't work on without purchasing a different regulator because mine fits the larger (5kg+) patio gas bottles by default.

AFAIK the latest baby q takes a Weber 445g screw fit cartridge as standard - in that case the Colemans 70/30 mix would be compatible, same goes on Cadac's 70/30 cartridges with en417 thread.

If your q is a recent model 1000 model (I think year 2014 and later) then you can also use a Weber 3in1 pipe to connect it (and for that matter the Go Anywhere gas model in this deal) to a full size patio gas bottle by screwing the pipe into where the cartridge normally screws into the bbq then attaching the other end to the larger 5kg+ bottle. The pipe is easily unscrewed from the bbq too so you can use the small canisters when you need more portability, the larger floor standing 5kg+ bottles to save some fuel costs if you cook often.

Char-broil also have a similar pipe available (Argos & b&q sell them) for their x200 grill2go BBQ for a fair bit less money which looks compatible with the Weber though I've not seen one up close yet.

Just want to add that it's your choice to use non-Weber supplies and add-ons. I'm not a gas engineer so please research further if you also want to take the path I have taken.

cheers
