Would this stuff kill off pre existing privets I have or would only kill the smaller weeds?

You can also buy large rolls of terram, the white terram will allow water through where the black terram won't so you have two choices, they use both on major road construction motorways etc.47578572-iV7KD.jpg47578572-bao9L.jpg47578572-Td1pC.jpg

This stuff usually perishes and you end up digging it out of the garden for years. If you want to smother weeds, use lots of cardboard (also free and better for the environment), cover with soil/rubble and leave for a few months. The cardboard will eventually break down and your weeds will hopefully have gone

Would this work to cover weeds coming through bed of rocks and gravel and weeds keep coming through and growing, thinking if this cover was placed between
    it might work
Its better for you to lay any Rocks,Gravel,Shale etc on top of the fabric
Do not cut an area to allow the rocks in
If the natural daylight comes into contact with the topsoil - sub soil it can cause vegatation to grow,
So its not recommended that you cut the fabric,i hope this helps. (edited)

Could this be used to line a compost bin made of wood?

Thinking of making my own for the garden.

I made the mistake of buying cheap. Ended up spending three weekends shovelling up the rocks and replacing with quality stuff. (edited)
Was this itme the quality stuff or did you buy something else?
