sorted byActually, judging from some people that frequent this site, that's probably not pedantic...
My summary of X3 would be it has its flaws, the UI sucks major balls and there are many unpolished parts, to your average gamer the 7.0-8.0 Metacritic ratings are probably just about right, but if you love your Civs, your Morrowinds, your Xcoms, your Eves, this game is the stuff of legends you will remember forever.
I loved the earlier games in this series but rarely got very far into the main story - far too engrossed in building my empire, funding larger, faster, more powerful spacecraft and building space stations to make my millions
Good price to pick the whole lot up, and now I don't have to worry about things like Starforce which were on the original disks for X2.
heh, was thinking of skipping this because $6 sounded a bit high for a game I had no interest in playing, but thanks to your comment I bought it anyway. For £3.86 seems like a decent enough deal.
For anyone curious, this comes as 2 keys. 1 for core games and 1 for bonus games,

Its crazy what the bundles do to your thinking. When you are questioning £3.86 for top quality games. I do the same, still had to go full bundle though
After thinking about this for 2 days and knowing I wont play it as have no interest in the game i still bought the bundle.......why do i have to have all bundles?

I'm in the same boat as you, but when I saw this:
I figure a couple of quid is worth it even if I don't end up liking the same.
Be warned though, although these games are huge in scope they have a very steep learning curve. Get on the forums for some excellent "noob" support to remove some of the frustration!
+ 1. I want the best introduction to get me hooked, so I'm happy to start fro 3 and work back but if it's worth starting from the beginning I would be open to it.
(And for those asking about where to start, I'd just go for the most recent as it usually has the best ai and most features - usually egosoft incorporates what the community made/suggested into each new release)
Buy mines, everywhere. Run some contracts, buy a huge ship with the biggest guns possible. Prosper.
Install files can be downloaded directly from HumbleBundle.com... you don't require Steam keys.
Usually yes, but not in this case:

That's what I've seen suggested elsewhere. This also looks very helpful for a new players (link) - I'll be giving it a read!
Nope not the only one, I have previously seen a few videos, and initially I thought it was a fancy looking rail shooter like Starblade, but the comments on here seem to indicate it's more like Elite/Frontier, which is on of my all time favourite games, very tempted!
EDIT: Well, guess I'm not eating tonight. lol

+2. I would love to know which is the best one to start with... Knowing me, i'll only have time to play one of them, so would love to make sure it's the right one (_;)
Heat for the deal.
good deal heat
Hot deal
I bought the terran war pack (X3:Terran Conflict + Albion Prelude) last july for £5 (in steam sale), so all of the games for $6 is really cheap.
egosoft are releasing a new version called X Rebirth, should be out November

Some preview videos of X Rebirth can be seen on the egosoft youtube: youtube.com/use…nel

If you have a card that offers a good rate without penalties (e.g. Santander One or Halifax Clarity) you can pay in dollars and get the Visa / MasterCard rate which is always significantly better. Doesn't make much difference for this but it knocked several tens of pounds off my last big Paypal purchase (booking a Florida villa).
