Wenger GA-7316-06F00 Swissgear Ibex Backpack 17" £32.87 @ Amazon

I had been keeping an eye on this laptop bag for ages after my previous bags had problems with the stiching and zips, so wanted a decent quality rucksack, but it was nearly always at around the rrp of £55, I eventually bought this laptop rucksack a couple of months ago in an amazon sale for around £49.

It has now dropped for £32.87 which is the lowest it has been, and I think that is a bargain for a 17" laptop bag of this quality.

Nice find, heat!
Excellent deal, been using a Wenger bag daily for the past 4 years and it's still going strong
(mind you one of the straps needs restitching but will get that done)
Far better than any of the previous laptop backpacks I used.
bought one for daughter recently. Straps and base are already in bad state. As plap said it need some restitch or return for replacement. Also the base has no feet / bush, but just leather.

Don't they have a lifetime warranty?

Wooh she must move around a lot then - I find quality excellent, best I had (had several laptop bags before from Belkin and the likes and they always wore out within 18 months)

Stitching (on the elastic part of the) straps on mine only started coming loose after 4 years of HEAVY use (use it daily, and pack up laptop several times a day to move to a different customer - most of the time backpack ends up in the boot so doesn't deal with the stress of public transport apart for a few times a month).

Note:there are fake Wenger bags circulating, seen them on markets and obviously those will wear out.
I purchased this bag in February 2011, and use it daily. The bag is still going strong, no issues what so ever there is a little bit of day to day wear and tear, but that is more that fabric on the cover of the bag going bobbly, and not any tears, rips or stiching issues.

Would recommend this bag to anyone, who needs a bag of this size for regular use.

Hadn't thought about that!

As per wengerna.com/wen…nty

"This Wenger bag is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product. If such a defect occurs, upon presentation of proof of purchase, we will repair or replace, at our option, your product without charge. This warranty does not cover accidental damage, unreasonable use, normal wear and tear, improper handling or damage caused by a common carrier, loss of use or consequential damages, nor does it cover repairs attempted by unauthorized persons."

I would imagine that straps wearing out after 4 years are classed as "normal wear and tear", however suniil might have a case.

Still, most of my colleagues use these bags too because they just last forever!
Ordered and Heated...thanks
Price is now £49.98...
I have one of these and it is fantastic quality. Gets used daily for work and still looks good as new after a year of use. Great price, hot.
Does it have a rain cover?
I've had this bag for over year..best bag ever, though i paid full price for it.
Tempeted to get another but it's showing at £49.98
excellent deal. last month i paid £55 for this bag. well worth every penny even at £55.
Aye, the price has gone back up now. I didn't expect it to last long once Amazon saw a few orders coming through, I was happy when I bought it for £49. Hopefully a few of you bagged a bargain though

I've taken advantage of their lifetime warranty this year for a Mythos bag that was about three years old - the plastic coating to the ribbing around the base had worn through revealing the coiled re-inforcing. That could have been considered "wear and tear" but Wenger simply sent me a brand new bag. Excellent service!! Mind you, they're hard to track down in the first instance (Amazon were useless at helping on this count). Anyway, no concerns ono the warranty front. Plus it's a brilliant bag!!
If its anything like its footballing namesake it will perform brilliantly for a few years but will deteriorate badly after that, but you'll remember how good it was for those first few years and refuse to get rid of it.

So disappointed I missed this. I bought one of the Karrimor Urban 30 backpacks a few months ago and told myself I didn't need this. Turns out the Urban 30 is not so solid and the inside pocket is already ripped on both sides, but now I come to buy this and the price is back up ;_;
