Why not got two of these?

then its 2TB for £140

It looks like a good price for this drive but still way to much given that you can get at least 3TB from 2 or 3 drives for less.

Given that it's on pre-order, it's going to be worth waiting until after they are available as I would expect the price to come down fairly quickly, especially as more retailers start to sell this drive.

This drive is £199 on misco. So I'm afraid I'm gonna have to vote cold
Don't know if there's a deal here for the misco drive, though?

Not very good offer

Simply put Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB into Google and straight away, no searching invovled.

£239.26 inc. VAT

SIMPLY 2 Second search !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having done a quick search, that price is on the high side compared to quite a number of other retailers. 4TB for under £300 sounds like a much better price, if you have the space for 4 drives...

I think you've got the dual 1TB external as it's showing as £262.99 for me . . .

Ouch, that's killed this deal off straight away

Id just like to point out that two 1Tb drives are not the same as one 2Tb drive, they cannot be directly compared in price.

Two vans aren't better than 1 lorry if you need the space.

Erm, NAS Drives... RAID Configurations... If your wanting it for storage in a small system, then it's an option, although expensive. If you have the space then you can run a RAID configuration or run a bunch of drives in a NAS device to bump up your storage.

Where do the vans come into it?

An example of such a scenario would be in a Media centre PC with a single bay for a drive. You can fit your lorry in, but not two vans...

... then you can go round the back with your NAS and park a few vans... ;-)

I didn't know you could fit vans or lorrys into a media centre pc...

Too much 'early adopter' premium for me. With the sweet spot at £70 per TB this has to be chilly.
