As hard drive capacities increase, the power required to run those drives increases as well. WD Caviar Green drives make it possible for energy-conscious customers to build systems with higher capacities and the right balance of system performance, ensured reliability, and energy conservation. - WD has reduced power consumption by up to 40 percent compared to standard desktop drives with the combination of WD's IntelliSeek, NoTouch, and IntelliPower technologies.

The one on amazon will be a retail drive that you can register the warranty, scan wont, its a grey import.

Good luck trying to return faulty items as well, Returned a drive to them, it took 2 weeks for a replacement, and they refuse to refund my postage of 4.50.

I will never shop with them again, and from what others said, they have the same problem with returns to them.

I would have rather paid an extra 5.00 and bought elsewere like amazon,
Best price is not always best

SCAN ARE SCAMMERS!!!

Pay extra for peace of mind. Cheap price = Cheap Service.

Use Scan loads - no problems

Bought loads off scan never a problem.

Took me a month to get a refund of scan

Yes but have you ever had to return an item to them for a refund?

madrugada doesn't like scan i think!

Once bought some kit that failed within a couple of months. They replaced it no problem, at Bolton, however it failed again a few months later, when I was abroad.
They insisted that I had to return the product (from New Zealand) before the warranty period expired, even though I explained that I would be back in the UK in a few months.
No leeway given, despite pleading my case serveral times. Very poor.
