You've got to wonder why they always have so many re-certified drives for sale???
I have a white and the black, just bought a blue one. See them the other day. Be rude not to for 36 quid. Love using them for XB1 360 games etc.. May use the blue for my PS4. Slight case of OCD. Nice one op 😃

I wonder this too

I also think they adjust the price slightly every couple of days so it gets a repost on here. Free advertising

They seem to be on here all the time
You can use 9fg9fjwwr for 15% off the rest of the site if you are concerned about recertified guys. Just got this after my confirmation.

My Book is much bigger in size (dimensions). And requires to be powered with its own included AC jack. Bought mine last year and is still sealed. I guess you can format them to be compatible with a mac. Users buy the Mac version and format to Fat32 or NTFS.

The My Book is on the left (mines a 3TB). Drive capacity size is irrelevant. The Passport 2TB is on the right, again drive capacity size is irrelevant. I assume that the physical drive is bigger in the Book probably a 3.5. But I have no intention to crack it open to check 😋

Did that once when I first got my PS4 and put in a 2TB 2.5 External HD. Managed to keep the case and put the original 500GB PS4 drive in the enclosure.

So is there any advantage of the big one over the small one ? Faster transfer speeds maybe
Personally I like the smaller and self powering Passport. As they are both running over USB 3.0. I am planning to put the bigger one behind my tv and use for media, music etc in the future. You can plug them into routers with a usb port and they show as a drive in your home network. I simply use the passports for gaming, Xbox and PS4 digital storage.

LOL

Too late now is I’ve just gone for a white 2TB.Should go nice with the new 27 inch imac i just had delivered

It was out of stock but they seem to be going in and out of stock every few minutes,I’m guessing they are either dribbling stock out or people have had them sat in the basket and not gone through with the purchase.

Thanks anyway for your help

That’s great.

Thanks again
Have been eyeing a passport drive for a while now, finally bit today - 2tb in white. Either this is the best deal for the 2tb yet or I am just in a particularly spendy mood. The 1tb drives are decent value also but I just cant see the point in a 1tb drive when you can get a 2tb for very little more £.
I plan to use this mostly for my Lightroom and Photoshop catalogs as I often work across two different systems as well as music and movies etc on the go.
I also have a WD MyCloud 3tb NAS as well as a 3tb Toshiba tucked away in a drawer which sees the light of day about twice a year. For these reasons I'm not overly concerned about failure with this drive, it's very good value. Not knocking anyone at all but if you have important files/documents etc regardless of whether your storage devices are Recert WD units or state of the art drives you are only asking for trouble if you keep one copy. This will allow me to triplicate my files as well as a portable option when there is no internet connectivity available (as with it I can just access my MyCloud drive).
OOS

I ordered one of these at the £39.99 price and after delivery loaded some of my files for backup and now after only three days I am unable to access the drive.
Having received one of these drives which failed I initiated a return by calling WD Customer Service four days ago and received an email saying "At your request, a return has been initiated. Your request to return items ordered will expire in 30 days. To make it easier for you to return the item(s) in question, our customer service staff will contact you to provide information and make the necessary arrangements".

Four days on and having heard nothing more from them (spam folder and telephone logs checked) I called this morning and after 18 minutes was promised they would send me a shipping label by email within two working days which will be next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Horrible company to deal with.
